This review is from: Original Album Series (Audio CD)
This is jaw dropping value for 5 jaw dropping albums (ok, so two of them are compilations, but they are awesome compilations). The Sisters were and are one of the best goth rock bands on the planet, and anyone who tells you differently is either an idiot, or wasn't there. Their songs are powerful, theatrical, intense and irresistable. Lyrically they are intelligent, uncompromising and funnier than you probably think, with a dark majesty that knocks your socks off.

This collection is pretty much everything (barring some live stuff and some B sides - and it's a shame that stuff like their inspired cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" is absent, for example)

You need to have these albums in your collection, and this is a great way to get them. JUST BRILLIANT.

If, like me, you're of an age when crimpers, patchouli and studded belts make you feel all fuzzy and warm inside, then you (again, like me) have your share of Cult (and or Southern Death Cult / Death Cult) albums on vinyl gathering dust in the loft. If this is you, then this compilation will you have dancing round the house like a demented fool, reliving your demented, foolish teenage years. If you're new to the Cult - then this is a great place to start. They were noisy, raucous, rock and roll heroes, and the old songs still stand up - especially (predictably enough) the classics - Sanctuary, Revolution, Lil Devil, Rain, Love Removal Machine (gotta love the guitar break at the end!). If there is a fault, it's that they became slightly overblown as their career progressed (in my opinion), and some of the later tracks reflect that. Overall though, this is a whole lotta fun!

This is the real deal - proper fairytales, with really bad baddies! Morality tales from a bygone age, full of bad things happening to the unwary, red in tooth and claw, no holds barred and definiely not bedtime reading for the kids! These stories are often in the original 'verse' style, but flow beautifully. The language might be Olde Worlde but the edge is still razor sharp! The metaphors are plain to see; the messages are there to be learned - Don't talk to strangers, do what you're told, don't stray from the path or the wolf WILL eat you! Great stuff, and all underscored by the superb illustrations - warts and all - by Gustav Dorre.
