Living within a stones throw of where Rhys ap Thomas was born found this book a most enjoyable and informative read. An insight to the area as it was in those days tells me that the war lords were not all that different to the war lords of Afghanistan today just some 500 years behind.

For a novel it was well written. However the story line was rather childish/silly . The disposal of the PM's body and it's reintroduction would of benefited from a more credible method. Trashed the whole yarn.

I bought the book because of the connection with Bletchley and her reputed V sign to the un-elected chamber. On both acconts i was disappointed.
As she describes her time at Bletchley i found the book BORING

My only criticism was that I found it extremely difficult to put the book down.

Whereas the TV remote control was a welcome aid to avoid the awful version on the ”box”. Who irresponsibly authorised this expensive TV production? BBC goes from bad to worse.

An interesting read of the escape from Hitler's Germany and integration into UK. Puts into perspective Ross and Brandon’s childish and possibly drunken series of phone calls.

I would of preferred more substance to the story thus encouraging one's leap to the next page. Await the sequel to this sequel

Yes i enjoyed the set. Rather booring were the numerous individuals went on and on declaring what a great fellow Fred was. We all know that. I'm sure both Fred and I would of preferred his appreciation of the craft and workings of the world of Steam Steel and Stone in Great Britain. Is this why we are now known as the United Kingdom!

What is missing from the book should be more interesting than what is included. But that is politics for you. Confirms that Brown was "psychologically flawed". We all knew that!

2.0 out of 5 stars It's a funny old world we live in., 25 May 2013

Homage to Catalonia I purchased to get a republican perspective on the Spanish Civil War from a well known author. With the exception of the various factions of Communists fighting like a bunch of rabid cats amongst themselves I got the impression from the book that Franco was the good guy.

I was further amused to read that in fact Orwell was an old Etonian (possibly a member of the Bullingdon Club?) and was in fact a Mr Blair in real life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
