4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic sound on this compilation and Levi Stubbs is surely ..., 1 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Fantastic sound on this compilation and Levi Stubbs is surely one of the truely great voices in music but I find it extraordinary that they left out their version (a hit in the U.K.) of Jimmy Webb's beautiful "Do What You Gotta Do". Five stars if that had been included.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for the kiddies..., 25 Aug. 2011
This review is from: Arrietty [DVD] (DVD)
This is a magical and wonderful film, a joy on the eyes for the beautiful colours in the drawings and a treat for the ears with a beautiful sparkling clear soundtrack.

My only problem with it (I saw the Japanese version in the cinema)is that it seems to have been side-lined purely into a kiddies movie. This will deter many I fear from seeing it. It really is a film for all and indeed maybe especially for adults, to re-discover the child in each of us. An enchanting film, I loved every frame.Treat yourself to something special.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't touch this with a barge pole....., 29 May 2009
I bought this on the strength of various reviews, including a five-star rave in the usually most reliable Irish Times. It is positively awful. At most, you might get five minutes entertainment from it. Hearing the late John Phillips briefly on the soundtrack lifted my little heart. The thing is probably considered a classic in Art movie circles, but if you're looking for an intelligent, funny and entertaining movie, this most surely isn't it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Curl Up For A Lovely Little Read........, 1 Feb. 2009
For anyone with the faintest interest in vinyl, this is a lovely little book that will inform and delight. The writer tells the story in, for me at least, a very conversational tone. His love and enthusiasm for his topic shines through. Treat yourself to the very nice and compact hardback copy if possible!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best gathering of Webb material as sung by Glen Campbell, 10 Oct. 2000
Raven issued a wonderful collection of the Richard Harris/Jim Webb sessions some time ago and they follow that with a terrific collection of Webb's work with Glen Campbell. All the hits are here, plus the complete "Reunion" album, plus hard-to-find items - some forgettable, others absolute gems. All this is topped off by great sleeve notes. An absolute must for lovers of great melodic music. This collection won't be bettered.
