An extraordinary book. You are immediately immersed into the world of Mark. An unbelievable situation made believable. Paced beautifully, witty, not mushy in any way. A terrific read and will make a wonderful film.

Just terrific fun plain and simple. Great characterization , plenty of action, enjoyable and solid story. Sit back with a cup of coffee, put the brain in neutral and take Puller to your heart. Can't wait for the next one.

I was along with thousands of others so surprised and disappointed when the BBC decided to cancel this extraordinary series. Quite simple to review series three by saying a huge thank you to Amazon prime . Hard to believe that the writing, acting , directing etc could improve but as the story develops New heights are being reached. Remarkable.

How can you not give this five stars. This man is a true hero. A man just doing his job and is placed in an invidious situation. You cannot help wonder how you would react in the same position. I am pretty certain I would struggle . I cannot deal with the day without my cup of coffee in the morning. He is selfless, lacking in ego, caring, a human being one can only aspire to be. This is inspiring stuff. And provides a sense of perspective as I set off to face the traffic on the journey to work. I will make sure I hug the missus and not curse the teenager for still being in bed.

A true gem of a story. A sense of 'when Harry met Sally' with a will they won't they question hovering throughout. Terrific lead character description. I would want to go for a pint with him. And a really lovely collection of support characters and off shoot stories. At times you just cannot help but feel that an opportunity to 're boot the memory and start again would be fantastic . However the beauty of the book is that you realise just how important it is to appreciate what you already have and cherish each moment. Except of course the moments the bills arrive and yet another reality tv show starts.

Another refreshing, tender and thoughtful book from this extremely talented author. It is just a magical read. it is such a gift for a writer to be able to let the reader feel such emotion and empathy with the characters. I cannot wait for the next book.

Another book by this wonderful author who has created some of the most extraordinary characters that you just want to spend time being with. A journey through political landscapes encountering stories of such absurdity that you wished all were from the marvellous imagination of Jonas Jonasson. Unbelievably, the manner in which some human beings are allowed to treat each other can never cease to amaze. The author gives the reader a chance to be angry at one moment but be able to laugh at the protagonists the next. Nice people can win through.

Truly one of the most extraordinary stories I have ever read. A beautifully structured book balancing raw emotional , heartbreaking, and adrenaline fuelled words. A compelling read. The book provides an opportunity to step back in time and learn just how we can now take too many things for granted in our everyday lives. I wanted to be able to stand and cheer these men across the finishing line. I had never heard of Joe and the crew, the coach or the boat builder, now I wish I had had the opportunity to meet them. An old dear friend of mine won gold, for Britain in the eights, Andy Holmes, sadly he has passed away now and I never quite appreciated just what he had gone through in order to fulfill his dream. I certainly do now.
