Very limited or no effect on eczema, so it just becomes an expensive bar of soap that doesn't smell great. It doesn't smell bad exactly, just kinda neutral, but you can get a lovely smelling soap for 60p, so this has to deliver on helping skin conditions to be worth the price, and in my experience it doesn't.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, 21 Nov. 2015
After reading reviews I thought this was going to be better. Don't get me wrong the mic is great, but the cable solution is a bit of a mess. You get 6 clips to fix the mic cable to your headphone cable, and on a 3m cable that means 50cm gaps, and the cables seperate between the clips and end up looking a total mess. Also the mic cable is very stiff, much stiffer than the much thicker cable from my headphones (AKG K601), so as you move your head, the cable puts pressure on the magnetic clip meaning the mic can be forced up away from your mouth. Also the idea that it's easily removable, well it's not because the two cables are stuck together with those clips.

So, it has a few drawbacks, and it's expensive. It's cheaper than buying an expensive headset like a Sennheiser PC360, assuming you have some very good headphones already, but you will have to live with a few annoyances.

If they want to make it better, make the cable more flexible, thinner and give you 20 clips rather than 6, and then have some sort of connector so you can remove the mic and leave the cables attached.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good solution for protecting your A8-50 and providing stand functionality, 15 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good solution for protecting your A8-50 and providing stand functionality. Nice looking case, looks particularly smart when the case is closed. Not too heavy or bulky and I've already managed to drop the tablet (from an 18inch high table) while in this case and it took no damage. Obviously the stand isn't adjustable, but it's good enough for most situations.

Only real downside, it's not a case where you'll want to remove the tablet often, because it does involve bending the rear of the case to get to the velcro which holds the tablet in. Do it too many times and the rear of the case will probably end up bent. Not a big deal though since there's no need to remove the tablet once it's in there. You have full access to all ports.

Honestly there aren't that many A8-50 cases available, and I think if you go with this one you'll be satisfied with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bit small for an A8-50, 25 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is listed as fitting a Lenovo A8-50. Well, it does, barely. You really have to force the tablet in there and then force the zip over the top, which feels like it could scratch the tablet. If you put your hand inside all the way to the bottom you can feel a small gap between the two main planes of the cover and you need to get the tablet edge down into that gap for there to be room to close the zip. That means inserting the tablet takes longer than it should. I'd also advise folding the zip back out of the way so it doesn't scratch your screen as the tablet is going in. To me it's 0.5cm too small for this tablet really.

Other wise it's good quality though. If dropped, as long as it didn't land vertically right on a corner (it's quite thin there) it should offer some decent protection. Overall, I would find something a tad bigger for an A8-50.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap price, cheap sound, 3 Feb. 2015
I paid £11 for these and that's about what they're worth. Do they work? Yes. Are they good enough for VOIP? Sure. Do they make a nice sound. Not really. Don't get them for music or gaming. Bass is weak, and the sound is fairly muffled. They just sound cheap, because they are. Then again Koss KSC-75s are £15 and sound a lot better, as do the £30 Sennheiser PC310s.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nope, 6 Nov. 2014

Expected this stuff to be good after reading the reviews, but in my case it's not capable of clearing up my eczema. What is does is relieve symptoms, i.e. if you use it in the morning you'll get a lot less itching throughout the day (the one exception being where you have very flakey skin where the moisturising action will cause intense itching), but it's not strong enough to clear up a bout of eczema or stop it getting worse.

If you compare with eumovate ointment (and yes I know that has steroids in it) this stuff is probably 5-10x less effective. What you could do with it is use eumovate to clear up some eczema and then use Aveeno to slow it's return, therefore needing to use eumovate less often. Personally I'll keep looking for something more effective.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good. Keeps drinks warm for about 30-40 minutes ..., 18 Oct. 2014

Pretty good. Keeps drinks warm for about 30-40 minutes rather than them going cold in 10-15. Just be aware that if you take a sip after 5 minutes expecting your drink to have cooled to drinking temperature, it's still going to be very hot.

Only real downside is the metal container plus plastic top does spoil the taste a little. This is probably an awesome cup for traveling/camping etc but for in the house, I'm not convinced. Only other downside, the seal on the lid might not last long (it looks quite thin and flimsy to me), and if it fails you'd have to take the top off to drink which is inconvenient and would let heat out.

4.0 out of 5 stars I can swing the monitor over and position it pretty quickly and easily, 3 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought the DM451X3 version. I wanted to be able to swing my monitor across to two different positions on my desk, one where I have a steering wheel setup for racing games, and the other where my mouse/keyboard is.

Does the arm achieve this for me? Yes. I can swing the monitor over and position it pretty quickly and easily, you just have to check the wires don't drag over anything or catch on anything. The cable tidy doesn't hold the two wires effectively btw (DVI+power).

So what doesn't it do? The bracket that pivots your monitor up and down, so it's facing you and not straight down at your desk, has to be tightened ridiculously tight to hold the monitor in place (screen weight 7kg). It took all my strength to get it tight enough. Basically you have to get it perfect and then never adjust it again. You will not be adjusting this bracket regularly. So really, the arm is not continually adjustable in that axis. You need the alan key, a lot of force and that bolt may well become loose due to the force you're putting on it. The only other issue is the height adjust isn't particularly easy or quick to do.

If you can live with these drawbacks, then go for it. It's solid, it looks decent and it's good value. A couple of final notes - make sure the rear of your desk has room underneath for the clamp since on a lot of desks the rear supporting surface is right up to the back. Final note, my desk is MDF (~2cm thick) and seems fine with the weight.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too small, kills spiders, 7 Jun. 2014
This review is from: Katch A Bug
I know this is described as humane, but it's difficult getting a spider in and out of it without maiming them. It's also too small to catch a big spider with.

The problem is the sliding tray, which isn't flush to the wall. Assuming you get the thing over the spider without chopping off some legs (and it's barely bigger than a big spider), you then have to get the tray under the spider. If it's a small spider it can get squashed behind the tray against the wall. A bigger spider, you need it to cooperate and lift it's legs as you slowly nudge the tray over. Assuming you manage that, when it comes to releasing the spider, what you'd like to be able to do is just flip the thing over and let gravity drop the tray, but if the spiders legs are in contact with the tray it's legs can get trapped and severed as the tray slides back through the slot.

You might be thinking, oh I'll just be really careful, but spiders move a lot and very quickly, so it's not that simple. Despite my best intentions I'd say this thing kills 30-40% of all spiders I've tried to catch with it. Needs a little redesign - make the compartment 50% bigger, and make the tray flush with the wall.

Samsung 32" F5000 Series 5 Full HD 1080p LED Slim Design TV
Samsung 32" F5000 Series 5 Full HD 1080p LED Slim Design TV

4.0 out of 5 stars Good picture; sound and remote not so great, 23 May 2014
Before I get going Amazon lump all the F5000 sets together. I'm reviewing the UE32F5000.

Overall I'd say it's a good TV, but it took a lot of messing to get a good picture out of it. One good thing about Samsung is that they let you turn off pretty much every piece of technology the set has, which is good because most of them are designed to enhance paper specs and actually ruin the picture for a discerning viewer. If you don't know, this set has an array of LEDs for a backlight, and when it detects a largely dark part of the picture it will dim that particular LED, meaning dark detail in that area can be completely lost. Switch to the set to 'movie' picture mode and this feature is disabled. I'd recommend you do this. Black depth is still very good without that feature.

Out of the box the set is very bright, over-saturated, with super shiny whites and SD pictures looks clumsily scaled, but a bit of playing around and you can get a very good picture out of it. Switch the picture mode to movie, turn the backlight down to around 10-12, turn off dynamic contrast and noise reduction, turn gamma to -1.... it starts to look really quite nice. This also makes the SD picture look sharper.

There's the usual LCD blur on fast moving images. The set does have a feature called LED Clear Motion, which I think strobes the backlight in between frames to make the blur less noticeable, and while it seems modestly successful you do lose some brightness and saturation and you can't quite fix that by altering other settings. Personally I would only use than setting watching sport.

What you can't fix though is the poor remote control and the mediocre sound. The sound isn't awful, but it's noticeably worse than the other HDTVs I've owned, with missing low and esp. high frequencies and some overly prominent mids. Overall I'd describe the sound as muffled. There's an EQ available but it only helps to a modest degree. Thankfully I have external speakers.

The layout of the remote is ok, although cramped, but there's no real way to find anything other than the volume and channel controls by touch alone, so good luck using it in a dark room. Just making the OK button round would have made a huge difference.

So 1 star off for sound and remote, but otherwise I'm happy with it after adjusting the settings. Nice picture, good black depth, very good power consumption (I tested mine at 36W), very adjustable, nice picture with HD sources and IMO good value for money.
