Ruined by constantly asking you to rate the game. Pathetic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Going FTP in February, 9 Jan. 2013
This game is going "Free 2 Play" in February 2013. Anyone will be able to download and play this game for free. The only advantage to buying this, apart from the included items, is to gain a "veteran" title granted to anyone who has ever had a paid subscription to the game prior to Jan 31st 1013. However, you can also buy the digital download version of the Collectors Edition for around £50 so save your money and buy from the official site if you want the collectors items and veteran status. If those things do not interest you, just wait until February and get the entire standard game for free with no subscription.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece, 2 July 2012
Imagine if David Lynch was allowed to take a break from making movies and make a Mario/platform game. Then you may get some approximation of what this game has to offer. Superb atmosphere, beautiful monochrome backdrops, erie ambient music(?) and puzzles galore. It is however a tad on the short side and some of the puzzles can be unforgiving and a matter of trial and error. For the price though this really is a must-have buy, especially for those who want something on a tangent to mainstream gaming. In a nutshell, this is one of those rare games that will live in your memory forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scariest Game Ever?, 3 Jun. 2007
This is probably the scariest game I have ever played. It has no dark corridors, no zombies or imps, no little "The Ring" style girls to creep you out. What it does have though is atmosphere by the bucketloads.

A strategy game clearly inspired by the 80's movie "Wargames" starring Mathew Broderick, you take control of an entire nations nuclear arsenal and your aim is to annihilate as much of your enemys armed capabilities and population as possible. All this of course, while they are doing the same to you!!. You see it's M.A.D (mutually assured destruction) and there can be no real winners as such because everyone dies. Your aim is to try and "die less" than your opponent.

Best played online rather than against the computer, the atmosphere created while the world disintigrates is chilling. The dull thud as missiles hit the target and the sobs of people dying in the radiation filled fallout is accompnied by some of the most haunting ingame music I have ever heard.

All this, with the free game "uplink" and at a bargain price mean this is a must buy product. 10/10 from me.

2.0 out of 5 stars "Old hat", 2 May 2007
This review is from: Halo 2 (PC DVD) (Video Game)
Someone stated below that this version of the game will be graphicaly improved over the Xbox version. Well not according to PCZone (UK) magazine. In thier HANDS ON preview, they stated that the game has NO improvements whatsoever over the Xbox version and that it was in fact "old hat" and a "huge dissapointment". If you want to play the "new" Halo 2 maps you don't need Windows Vista or for that matter Halo 2! All you need is Halo custom edition (free download) and a genuine Halo cd-key from your original Halo game (XP) and all of the Halo maps are downloadable as custom maps. I have been playing Zanzibar on XP for months. Don't believe the hype

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware!, 27 Feb. 2007
I am not a fanboy for any format whatsoever but felt I must make clear some important facts about the European version of the PS3.

Someone has stated here that US and Japanese PS3's have superior emulation software for backwards (PS1,PS2) compatibility, and that this software will be available for download for European owners. NOT TRUE! US and Japanese PS3 emulation is HARDWARE BASED not software and therefore cannot be "downloaded" Although I expect emulaion WILL of course be updated bit by bit over the long term (Xbox Live style)

The emulation hardware chips for the European version have been REMOVED! This is (according to Sony) "To reduce production costs" and yet we are still expected to pay $[...] MORE than the US!

Also, details about exactly which titles will be able to use the emulation software will not be released until launch day. Very suspicious in my opinion.

I do not doubt it will be a great machine and have a long lifespan, but concerns about the higher price we pay, for what is essentially an inferior product should be taken into account when considering your purchase
