5.0 out of 5 stars another fantastic album, 6 Feb 2014

This review is from: Slow Focus [VINYL] (Vinyl)
Tarot Sport there last album is for me one of the best albums I've heard, it forward thinking, original, challenging and uplifting. It would be a task to improve on that, but Slow Focus makes no attempt to repeat the formula, they take a darker, even more intense and experimental approach. Whilst still combining elements of post rock, shoegaze with electronica and techno, there is a harder hip-hop and industrial core to this album. Tracks such as Red Wing kick off with a stomping abrupt hip-hop beat and evolve into swirls of noise and climate into a wall of sound as expected from the F Buttons, where as Hidden XS start much slower and almost tranquil before exploding into moments you'd never expect unless your familiar with the F Buttons. Much recommended for anyone with an open mind to new, innovative music.

2.0 out of 5 stars a weak game, 6 Feb 2014

this is more of a frustrating game when french elements than a real learning aid. Better than nothing but takes far to long to complete tasks which are only vaguely related to french, would only recommend for kids and kids who prefer games to learning directly, so perhaps if your kid is reluctant to learn french this might work. I've been using my french coach also on the DS and that is far better

A real inspiration, this has really changed my way of thinking when approaching design projects, i work as a designer, but i'm often a little hesitant when moving into new areas. Lang's great skill is his enthusiasm and mentality when approaching new projects, i've taken a lot from this and i'm not a zero.

4.0 out of 5 stars how some business promote brand over product, 27 Dec 2005
This review is from: No Logo (Paperback)
As business student I found this an interesting read and would recommend it to other business and marketing students fed up with lecturers and text books forcing marketing down your throats. It explains how many businesses typically large MNEs promote the brand logo over the importance of a product. However in some aspects of the book it seems to go too far; brand names and logos are a fact of like and do offer some benefits. So do read this book, but also keep an open mind, because as a consumer it can be dificult to purchase quality products that are unbranded or manufactured by MNEs. My personal thorghts are to avoid the biggest brand names and focus on product quality and good design.
