1.0 out of 5 stars Only watched 2 Discs and now it doesn't work., 16 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
OK, admittedly I bought this two years ago, but between then and now, have only watched 3 Blu-Ray discs. Skip forward two years later and the machine doesn't work.
I get the popular (judging from reviews here), grinding noises and a 'check disc' command.

What the hell is the point of a Blu-Ray player that won't play Blu-Ray discs???!!! Also, it seems the life span is only a couple of years, regardless of how often it's used.
I thought LG were reliable; what a waste of money.
People, if you are tempted to buy this, really think hard. The price may be reasonable, but it's only for a disposable piece of plastic. You can gets those for free from any rubbish bin, and you'll get more fun from it.
Avoid!

I'm so glad the new live action movie of "The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe" got made as it's a great excuse for this superb animated version to finally get the DVD treatment.

Seeing this back in 1979 it was absolutley magical and although it shows it's age, it's still a great movie.

This particular DVD has indeed the original British cast lending thier voices (Arthur Lowe, Leslie Phillips etc) but the end credits list the American actors which is a bit strange.

The extras are not too bad, with commentary from some of the crew and plenty of production stills and early sketches as well as a few storyboards.

There is a brief but interesting interview with the producer about the problems getting the movie made and there is also a deleted scene from towards the end of the movie which doesn't show any animation as such but retains the original voice over and shows how the scene would have played out with the aid of early sketches.

It's well worth buying but I feel that people will be disappointed with this if they have seen the new CGI movie and expect a similar film.
