Disappointing., 30 May 2010
I had been looking forward to reading this book, because I found the first one promising. I must say I was very disappointed.
The first part of the book is used to give us background story on Jardir and the Krasians. To me it felt a waste and annoyed me so bad with all those made-up words. If it had been two chapters it might have been okay, but for almost half the book? It just got plain boring, and I had to push aside a strong urge to skip large passages.
When we finally get back to Arlen and the "western world" the story gets more go, but still it seems very focused on minor details and side-stories and nothing important really happens to the main plot.
When I felt like the story was about to start I realized I had 10 pages left, and then the book was over.
All in all, the Demon Trilogy could have done without book 2.
