5.0 out of 5 stars Thought provoking, 29 Jun. 2008
This review is from: WATCHMEN TP (Paperback)
This is a kind of desconstruction and shot in the arm to the superhero genre. Certainly the best graphic novel I have read and just what you would expect from Alan Moore.

Recommended to anyone really regardless of whether you are comic person or just like to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 28 May 2008
Heavy on craft jargon and historic detail. This is good and bad. Footnotes necessary. Disturbing subject matter unsuitable for youngsters.
An interesting story. Quality of the artwork is not the best at times.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book took me forever to read!, 6 Nov. 2007
This book is very hard work but it is worth it. It quite like dickens in that you have keep checking the footnotes to understand what on earth they are talking about. I suppose it is the polar opposite to the generic american airport reader. Fortunately I have met few people a cursed as Ahab...

4.0 out of 5 stars An informative introduction to Kabbalah, 19 Sept. 2004
This book is an interesting look at the development of mystical interpretations of the bible in Medieval Spain and France.

If you enjoy it you will also probably enjoy the Matt Chat translations which offer more bang for your buck.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent Album, 9 Feb. 2004
This review is from: Slanted & Enchanted (Audio CD)
This is a really good albumn probably the best by Pavement. If you like it you will also like Stephen M's solo albumns.

There is no accounting for taste but if you like REM, The Strokes, The Dandy Wharhols, Sleeper, Blur, Suede or bands like them you will probably get a kick out of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good., 31 Mar. 2003
I read this when I was 14 and it made me want to be an FX dealer. Having tried FX dealing for one summer I changed my mind.

The story is pretty damn good. Hard to believe it is by the same man who wrote Electric Kool Aid!

It is very long so your arms get a bit tired...
