Metallica: Enter Night: The Biography
Metallica: Enter Night: The Biography

5.0 out of 5 stars Enter awesome, 16 Nov. 2011
Metallica: Enter Night delivers. Mick Wall is great when he chronicles stunning bands the right way. He's a good writer and his slot on Radio XS shows he knows what he's doing. This book confirms it - any Metallica fan wanting to see some of the sweat, anger and commitment going on behind the scenes needs to look at this.

Just for kicks ordered a copy of 'Sherlock Holmes and the Flying Zombie Death Monkeys.' Why not?

5.0 out of 5 stars Metallica in a tight space = superb, 16 Nov. 2011

This pounds it out. Great song selection. It's tight and brutal and straight to the point. Anyone who was at this show, I envy you so much.

2.0 out of 5 stars This damn near blows, 16 Nov. 2011
I bought this twice, once on the "Binge" set and then this DVD. It's not even a great concert - they can be far better. Avoid this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A stunning album, Christy at his finest, 16 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Ride On (Audio CD)
This has the most wonderful and evocative songs on it. Christy captures such power and meaning in his voice and the haunting notes of the opening two tracks are worth it alone. All through this CD has superb songs on it, not a bad one. The subjects his music covers is wide and superb, ranging from the Spanish Civil War to using lyrics by Yeats and Bobby Sands, it is truly a great album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christy's great legacy continues, 16 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Folk Tale (Audio CD)
Time has only improved this man's voice. It is truly the sound of a country he has in his vocal chords and I'm glad to say he never disappoints. This new CD is no exception, pure Christy with nearly a dozen fine songs.

Always a man with his finger on the pulse, he continues to write and record songs about topical subjects. His big heart is always close by.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful playing from a master, 16 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Road Song (Audio CD)
A smooth guitar sound that slinks along like butter on sexy toast starts this CD. "Road Song" is my favourite Wes Montgomery track, a beautiful harmonious piece of jazz that is both catchy and refined. It's a very sophisticated sound that mellows me every time I hear it.

This CD also has some arrangements of popular songs for instrumental, none as touching as his masterful "I've grown accustomed to her face" but it's clear to see an influence in the way Jeff Beck's been adapting songs recently, as on his last album.

This is great music, I can't praise it highly enough.

Some great pictures here and the best of the line up are present. There are a couple of surprise omissions but otherwise very good.

A nicely done round up of the best footie has to offer. Some great stuff on offer here and I'll be getting plenty of time in with this before I give it to the kids.

3.0 out of 5 stars The way he sees it, 12 Nov. 2011
It is impossible to ignore Alan Sugar. He is direct, opinionated and he never lets you forget how he got to where he is. He's a big success, no doubt about that, and his advice is straight from the hip. Underneath all the big mouthery there is a very sharp man who knows his own mind.

4.0 out of 5 stars A surprising end, 12 Nov. 2011
I want to start my review by saying that the comparisons to other sagas are unfair. These books are following the classical hero's journey, like thousands of stories have done before. So this is not unoriginal as the characters are walking in similar footsteps to numerous mythical figures, dating back far before Tolkien or George Lucas.

These books have given a lot of reading pleasure. While the end (no spoilers here) won't be for everyone, if you've followed the series so far you must read the end. "Inheritance" is as well written as the three which preceded it.
