4.0 out of 5 stars brilliant machine, awful software, 11 July 2016
The machine itself is superb. Really nice, solidly built, smooth, reliable, easy to assemble, easy to use. Everything you hope for. It gives a superb full body workout, pretty much no matter how fit or unfit you are, and the handles are a lot easier on the hands than the concept 2. Size wise it's very compact, and when stood vertically uses almost no space

However. It is very expensive for what it is (2 planks, a plastic container, 3 bits of sting and a raspberry pi) and the "bundled software" is atrocious: barley functional with all the aesthetic charm of Michael Gove: seriously don't even bother hooking it up to a PC.

Am happy with the purchase and the use, but at this price, the software should be much, much better - would really expect Bluetooth connection to a full functioned smartphone app giving full insight into your workout + workout diary, online competition & suchlike. Not something that looks like an MS DOS app

2.0 out of 5 stars Going backwards, 2 Jun. 2016

Ok, this is by no means memories of ice, or dead house gates.

Very long winded. Long sections of pure drivel which do nothing for the plot or character development, stereotypically stupid Nobel houses, and both rake and draconus are morons, which make this a tough book to read

Still has some good scenes, but it really feels like the series is trading on past glories, and when the last ICE book was better than eriksons last, something is badly wrong

Polished out a really bad scratch on a mineral-glass watch face. Shop wanted £40 for a new screen

Can just about make out what's left of the scratch but it's so much better than I expected

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good. Couple of niggles, 25 Mar. 2016

*** 2 months in edit ****

Still happy, some niggles

The onboard computer is absolute garbage. Even the clock is out by over 3 mins per hour during exercise, the heart rate monitor is out by 40 BPM, and neither calories or speed consider resistance. So I only now use it to rest a book on.

The rest is still rock solid and great for getting in shape for outdoor biking. Resistance will go crazy high and it remains smooth to pedal

The adjustability is good to get comfy.

It may have wheels (at one end only) but it's about 55kg so "getting no it out for a ride" requires a bit of a workout

Have added a beats blue chest strap hear rate monitor I pair with my phone. Works well, and junking the pedals for proper SPDs worked well

First 20 minutes of any workout are very noisy while the resistance pad and flywheel warm up. After that it gets quieter and smoother

The resistance pad still looks in OK condition but is loosing a fair bit of fluff and powder. Can see that needing replacement (£5ish) every 8 months or so

I don't trust the bottle holder. Very flimsy. I have a big bottle close to hand when riding

**** /edit ****

This is a very very good bike. At least as good as the ones you find in commercial gyms.

Loads of ways to adjust it - probably OK for people between 5 and 6'6 up to 150kg. Pretty sturdy and made out of girders (it's about 54 kilos made up)

The saddle is excellent for men. Women will want to burn it and replace with a wider one. The pedals are cr.. But anyone who wants a by of kit like this will junk them, replacing with SPD or similar - it's all standard sizes so replacing pedals and Sadler with normal bike gear is simple

Resistance feels like a proper bike - so much better than cheap exercise bikes, and goes from none upto serious hill climb. Noise is pretty good - can watch TV at normal volume but only just

The bottle holder is pretty flimsy and the computer isn't great - by simple for the cash, and the heart rate reader is garbage (or I'm lance armstrong at his best). The calorie counter ignores resistance which is rubbish and with no gears you can't up the distance covered without dropping resistance

The handlebar adjustment is ok once set up but is a pain to do so and I haven't got it as tight as I'd like

All in all an excellent piece of equipment that came fast, was easy to build, should last a long time and will give beginners and pros a hard time.

Do buy proper pedals and look into sufferfest tho
