5.0 out of 5 stars Under-rated excellent band, 12 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Amplifier (Audio CD)
This is fine stirring music but not for the easy-listening clan.
This a fine album and captured their sound at the time - quite heavy.
Fans argue but I think that this and Echo Street (their latest) capture their
sound the best.
Why they aren't more famous is a mystery

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good sound. Rumours answered, 12 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
You will read widely about the Angora screen being invisible in normal light and some versions saying "up to 8MB" when they mean 2MB + 8MB micro SD card (actually 10MB). Both of these are true. The sound volume and quality is both brilliant and the supplied earphones are far better than the usual, though purchase of something like JVC AIR or better would make the Angora a very fine player indeed.

ANGORA MR310 Digital Audio MP3 Player up to 8GB High gloss metal finish & High quality OLED display with 128 x 32 resolution

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth Noting, 17 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The audio quality is good and quite load with even the modest earphones they come with.
Display is impossible to read unless in the dark but is good when you can see it.

I'm a bit troubled by the marketing. "Up to 8GB" is only the case with a 8GB micro SD which is not provided and not explained. Really it is a 2GB device made to sound better than a 4GB version. However for use as a player where you don't want to select anything it would serve well

The Hour
The Hour
by Michael Hutchinson
Edition: Paperback
Price: £7.19

4.0 out of 5 stars A tale of tortured endeavor, 17 Jun. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Hour (Paperback)
Starkly honest, off-beat story of an already very successful cyclist seeking something to really define his career.

The Hour record (how far you can ride on a track within the hour) has been little written about and in riding terms it has been a book-end to a career, rather than a book. Michael writes about its background, the controversies, the favouritism, the beurocratic bungling and the wondering of possible cheating. And his attempt ... No, I'm saying no more.

It is full of rather shocking insecurities, laced with acerbic wit. It would make a good replacement on the bookshelves for those binned Lance Armstrong tomes (who perhaps, oddly, never attempted the Hour)

5.0 out of 5 stars Satnav plus - brilliant device, 5 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It performs many functions very well. The video is very tolerant of file-types without fiddly conversion 600x400 gives a nice picture. FM radio not so good but they never seem to be on these devices.
The Satnav is great. It is reasonably easy to set up and has a cycling function which shows tracks that aren't shown to a motorist. Since cycling Satnavs are normally £100+ I must say this is fantastic at the price. Battery lasts only an hour in Satnav mode so this has to be solved with an external supply.

An Excellent purchase and rapid delivery

Breakfast For Dogs
Breakfast For Dogs
Price: £14.37

4.0 out of 5 stars Finger-style from the boss man, 20 Nov. 2012
This review is from: Breakfast For Dogs (Audio CD)
Probably to be bought by guitar freeks but represents a fine selection of the new slim-line Don. The playing still displays a staggering technique but is more melodic than his heavy -weight days.
He has been a major influence on a whole host of aspiring guitarists, from North America and elsewhere. He is the name mentioned as an inspirational and this solo album shows he is still at the top of his game.

4.0 out of 5 stars All the 'fax, 24 Jan. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Johnny Meynell, who I am still to meet, is one of those chaps every club needs but few could be blessed with. If only the team had played on the park with all the gusto, accuracy and care to detail of his writings they would be in the Premiership. Probably, alone, he has remained sanguine despite the downs and downs of the club (with permanent difficulties and a death-wish). There is only the gentlest of pointed fingers. Johnny searches ever for the silver lining, which we all knew presaged a Pennine downpour. Even the Watney Cup beating Manchester United, including Best, Law and Charlton, doesn't get the gloat it might have done. I'll read, and re-read that page!!
A heavy-weight tome all Shaymen should have.
