5.0 out of 5 stars MISSING CLASSIC, 24 Oct 2011
This review is from: Walk in the Fire (Audio CD)
This is a classic that may have got through the net. This band were the british answer to journey. And answer is what they did. Both this album and 'native sons' are must haves in your collection if AOR/MELODIC ROCK are your thing. This band with gigantic balladeering vocals by terry brock are at times better than somethings journey did, as the production is more simple. This band could have been on the world stage if terry brock hadn't left for a more lucrative roll with deep purple(which fell through). They are now back with a new album which should have been part 3 but with a moderate production somewhat dissapoined. This album still has its classics with 'Time' really standing out. Buy 'Stangeways live at firefest' to give you an insight into this band continuing to buy the other 3, but not the rest of strangways albums as the appeal without brock is indeed limited!

A real good album by former jakes. heard of this band as one of the bands members mother is a friend of my sister. Watched them ob jools holland then u tube so bought cd. I was not dissapointed. The quality of songs and catchiness of tunes is very good and had me singing along after a few plays. Would recommend this cd to all that aren't into westlife or rap but like quality songs played in a kindof fleet foxes sound. maybe !Young the Giant

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT, 25 July 2011
Dont know how long it will last, but as some folk have commented on the tilt mechanism being flimsy, this should be easily repaired if it breaks and substituted with a more robust bracket. put it up in garden with no instructions within 5 mins of opening parcel. Will look forward to getting on sunlounger/s and sunbathing whilst camping in the breezy british climate Buy one, a bargain!

Not really into this, love everything tommy shaw has done over the years both with styx and solo stuff, but bluegrass is not my fave. Best reviewed by a bluegrass fan who could give a more baised review. Tommy Shaw should return to the great 'ambition', 'what if' or more AOR stuff which he excells.

4.0 out of 5 stars CHEAP BUT NOT NASTY, 25 July 2011
Bought these to keep in my motorhome as spares for when parked up on site. Quite a good sound which dont require batteries, which in a motorhome, or, small room will give you a decent sound, not dead loud, but loud enough at a cheap price.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST, 25 July 2011
A must buy for classic rock fans. A good collection of one of the uk,s top, long lasting bands. These guys have played in one form or another for ever. These songs are what may be missing today but for a cheap price is still better than most tosh that is getting re-hashed by some of the so-called new bands of today. Because heep are old, they have been there and got the t shirt. Buy it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth buying, 25 July 2011

Steve Overland, although doesn't appear to be known in america is possibly brittians best AOR vocalist. He can rock it up as well as turn his voice to a more soulfull bluesy tone which can make an avarage song into a classic. The singer with FM(a great british band)who works constanty, collaborating with loads of different musicians goes it alone again, producing a fine album, possible with no stand out classic tracks as they are all good, which should be added to any AOR collection.

finally got this in cd format after wearing through my vinyl. this is what aor/melodic rock is all about. if you dont have this in your collection then you need to have a re-think. all the songs, no exception are classics which have you singing along from start to finish. forget eye of the tiger, these songs are much better: the singer not the song, high on you, popular girl, i cant hold back. These are just some as they all are classics. BELIEVE ME! BUY IT!forget about the age of the release. These songs get better with age. Music of this quality faded with the grunge movement appearing desroying what we had. Survivor, journey toto foreigner etc were tops and are starting to come back(thank god) along with newcomers Houston and old faves like FM amd Strangeways. Rock on!
