3.0 out of 5 stars Easy reading, 8 July 2014

Not a bad book, very easy to read (Mills and Boon style :) interesting storyline and enjoyable.
But....... one thing annoying me about these books is the way the women just roll over to forgive regardless of what the guy has said/done or plans to do it reminds me of that saying, 'fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me' these women allow themselves to be fooled over and over. Without any kind of payback 'sorry' is a very easy word to say. They are certainly better then me as I think I'd be tempted to stab them in the upper theigh for the cra* they pull. I'd enjoy a charactor who after watching the one they love screw everything that moves for 200 years tells the guy to get stuffed (I know its a romance but still!) and then follows through. ****Poss Spoilers****
Example being in this book - he's lied to her about what happened to her family, abandoned her when she needed him for 200 years because he wanted her to hurt, spied on her (cameras in your house/bedroom spying), interferred with her life because he knows best and spat on her feelings but noooooooooo she's only angry for 5minutes tops, it gets irritating that the guy acts like a douche and gets away with it in all of these books.

I took nearly a month to read this - as I hid it from myself to draw it out- Biggest disappoint is as always having to wait so long for the next one :) Loved it as always felt it moved at the normal pace and style as the previous series. He's such a wiley little mook! And I'm begining to think he likes getting beaten up. Can't wait to see where he ends up next and will be reading on, unlike some others I read Dresdon seems to stick true to his original charactor and at least he isn't hopping into bed with anything that winks at him - overall a good read though I do miss the fun of his non fairy related investigations

well durimg a fight a gypsies lover is killed by a female dragon. all females are cursed to suffer terrible pan and only transform at night. this effects babies who die of the pan wthin a week or get their necks cracked. its decided all female children will be killed so they dont suffer- the men who were also fighting simply carry on for ccenturies then this girl is adaopted and somehow thw males know about her and have tried to get her adaopted dad to send her to them for five years. he decides to do that without asking them any questions telling her till the last minute and then signs paperwork without reading it because they tell him they have to hurry. what arde they gonna do leave without the girl theyve been after for five years? and thats where i stopped bothering to read this book it annoys me when writers are so obvious about setting up for later problems

Funny and a little strange, I think its hard to make a bad guy likable so very well written keeping a good balance. If you like superheros, comedy, romance and fun try it. I read this one 1st then tried the 1st - spoilers :)

Like a mills and Boon but with more kink :) When I started reading and realised where it was going I was tempted to put the book down but - as I'm nosey - I carried on and actually really liked it. I'm not really keen on books about a need to control as it makes me think less of the needer

1.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunate, 2 Jun 2014

I say unfortunate because I'd bought book 2 before starting this - and so had to read the next one too.
This is a story about a girl who within 24/48hrs falls in lov with a guy who gives her no reason to even like him (tells her he plans to use and abuse her to her face) and goes from eww don't touch me to oh well I'll have to have sex with him - why? It won't get you anywhere and you know it so if you want to sleep with him do it but don't pretend!!!
The hero is a self confessed murderer - rapist - and plans to have her tortured for something that happened when she was a child she had nothing to do with - she of course forgives him for betraying her, using her and seems unable to realise he's only keeping her coz its convinient, and that if he hadn't decided to keep this walkover he would have slaughtered her/allowed her soul to be slowly eaten over a few hundred years even after having sex she is nothing but a means to an end. Spolier - If the creature had been coming for her when she was still a child his charactor would have allowed him to enact the same plan - without the sex (I hope) - because he is a evil monster just because he cares for a dead sister doesn't make him soft and fluffy, and her attitude reminds me of those women who marry lifers. Its amazingly funny that in these 2 books (1+2) all the 3rd species charactors bemoan their plight but only from what I see that they can't slaughter as they'd like. The slave trade is alive and flourishing. I find nothing to love in a man who abuses those weaker then him and uses people like a throw away tissue if you do then go for it. The 2nd book is even worse as the main hero plans to rape her whilst she bleeds to death mearly because of her people yet whines how unfair the vamps have been treated and certainly adhers to double standards (as in its ok for me to be a dic* but if you try to defend yourself I will call it betrayel and use it to justify further ill treatment and abuse). That said at least they don't beat these girls whilst telling them how brave they are for being free and expanding their sex play
