Not a good buy, 23 Sept. 2008
The synopsis states " .... covers all aspects in great detail. Topics include the choice of site and aspect, building soil fertility, pests and diseases, crop rotation and organic cultivation". This is not true.
On Pests the presenter states that he is not going to plant Brassica's (cabages etc) because of the problems with pests. Fine, but I wanted to know about the pests and ways of mitigating their destructive powers. Next reference to 'pests' was to check under your pots and in your greenhouse for slugs, and dont forget mice. That was it.
The only thing covered in any detail is how to plant seeds. Again, that was it.
There was nothing about soil preparation except to create/use your own compost. Not very helpful if you dont have space for you own. No recommended alternatives.
You/I will get more information by spending half an hour searching the internet.
