5.0 out of 5 stars Beathtaking Big Band Free Jazz, 16 Sep 2014
This review is from: Enter [VINYL] (Vinyl)
A big band jazz group that also incorporates elements from Prog rock and rock. There's a lot of mellotron and electric guitar amongst the avant-garde riffing from the brass section. The music itself twists and turns through manic free sections and mellower vocal passages. It reminds me of 'Centipede', the 70s album featuring a 100 piece big band and some of the work by Carla Bley. I love this sort of free, avant garde jazz and found this a hugely enjoyable album from start to finish.,

5.0 out of 5 stars Squishy Love Handles for your iPad!, 16 Sep 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I was initially a bit sceptical when I saw this: a somewhat large lump of silicon into which you can stick your ipad (Not, this is NOT suitable for iPad Air.). After using it for a while, I found it pretty good if you're using you're using your iPad in landscape mode to watch films or type. The squishy handles at the edge provide good grip and the taper means it's comfortable for typing on. The iPad fits well and all the relevant buttons and ports are easily accessible. The other selling point is some sort of chamber around the speaker to improve sound, which I found did work (As I keep getting told to turn the sound down.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Funky Cannibals!, 8 Sep 2014

The opening theme is more like the funky theme to a US cop show, and the rest of the album contains a mix of stuff like this combined with synthesiser based track that generally herald something nasty happening in the film. The album is brilliantly presented, with liner notes from the composer and several stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Noisy, Exciting Improvised Jazz, 8 Sep 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Feed-Back [VINYL] (Vinyl)
'The Group' was an Italian band that appears to have featured various musicians including Ennio Morricone, famous for his film scores. This album is noisy, improvised music, a bit like some of the stuff Faust were doing in the early seventies. Guitars and saxes (I think!) squeal and strange discordant piano riffs punctuate it. Sometimes it's like the soundtrack to a nightmarish film, but it's also exciting and unpredictable. This album also came with a CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars This has proven to be a very useful device., 29 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I wanted this for two reasons: to improve wifi connectivity in the upper reaches of the house and also for the audio streaming capability. Setting up was simple. I merely connected my tablet to the 'setup' wifi network the device supports and gave it the passwords to the 2.4G and 5G networks my router supported. Once rebooted, areas of the house (Attic room) that struggled to get a decent wifi connection could now connect. The addition of 4 network connections meant i could retire an existing hub used for wired connections (via power sockets) and replace it with this, so I've not got any extra electronic devices.

As a bonus, I can stream audio from my various computers and tablets using Airplay. This also worked right away.

It's not a stylish device, but who cares? Good price, as well, I paid similar price for an Apple unit that didn't have the benefit of four ethernet ports in it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay for a Americano., 29 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is drinkable when made into an 'Americano' (i.e topped up with a cup full of hot water), but I don't like it much by itself as an espresso. It's a bit too bitter and I'm not keen on the taste. The Colombian is far nicer. I also have the same problem with them not fitting that well into my Nespresso machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent stand., 26 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This works brilliantly with an iPad air that also has an Apple full cover case on it. The stand has a rotating disc on the bottom on which there is a non-stick rubber ring, which means it doesn't work when it's on the table (Meaning you can use the touch screen without it moving.) The turntable rotates 360 degrees and then locks slightly into place, meaning it won't just spin constantly when you turn it. When in the 'locked' position it's rock steady and doesn't move when swiping or using the touch screen on an upright iPad Air. I guess this also means you can spin it round to show someone something in a meeting, and then knock it back into place quickly afterwards. The spinning movement is smooth and silent.

So using the iPad upright in portrait or landscape position was fine. It was held firmly in place and didn't move when in use.

The other configuration is to rest the iPad on the back of the stand, which has a rubber grip on it and is good for putting your device at angle so you can watch a movie or type. Again, the iPad is gripped well (Even with a case) and remained in position whilst in use.

A good, well constructed product. Before buying make sure that your table isn't too thick for the stand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable to use., 26 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The pen came in a nice presentation box with the pen held securely inside a loop. The pen itself is a nice dark blue colour, and is quite slender, yet despite the size has a nice weight. This weight is more substantial on the top, meaning the pen seemed to rest naturally against my hand making it comfortable to use. When writing the ink flow is consistent without having to apply much pressure.

These Nespresso compatible capsules are actually fairly decent. The coffee is a little watery, but smooth enough to drink as a pure espresso. My only problem with them is that they don't go into the machine very well, and sometimes the lever springs back before it's finished. Other times I have to actually hold the lever down to make sure it stays down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well made, easy to use and sounds good., 12 Aug 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
A small Bluetooth speaker designed for phone use. Connecting was simple - used the NFC to get Bluetooth settings on a Lumia phone and it connected straight away. The top of the device slides back to allow you to stand your phone up, which is very handy. Nice controls that are touch sensitive with LEDs showing volume, which looks pretty good. Good sound quality. Tried it out with a couple of phones, and it worked fine in all cases. As usual with Logitech it's well made and the size means it's easy to carry around with you.
