5.0 out of 5 stars love this album-every song is great-rock solid, 16 July 2009
This review is from: Houses of the Holy (Audio CD)
i love this album and i rate it second only to physical graffiti-or possibly joint second with vol two
however its less boring than vols 4,3 and one-
i like this so much because it has beautiful discordant songs-the guitar chords and riffs are slightly off on purpose and the vocals too are discordant-so it never bores me-i can enjoy every song on this album even after 30 yrs-love every song and if u r easily bored and hate pop songs and like creative voclas, guitar and song structures-this album is second only to physical graffiti-and if u like hard, raunchy, primitive rock too-then also u can buy vol two-personally i have always found vol 4 over rated and slightly boring-though it does contain when the levee breaks -which is a classic
anyway i love this album and along with physical graffiti it is one of the 2 best albums by zep

5.0 out of 5 stars second only to physical graffiti, 16 July 2009
This review is from: Led Zeppelin II (Audio CD)
i love this album-whole lotta love is incredible and what is and what should never be is also fantastic-this album and physical graffiti and houses of the holy are their 3 best albums-but vol 3,vol one and vol 4 are also great albums.
when i think of led zep-i think of the rover from graffiti and whole lotta love-those 2 songs are awesome and pure led zep-though there are another 40 classic tunes by them inc when the levee breaks, the ocean, over the hills and far away, what is and what should never be etc etc etc

5.0 out of 5 stars easily my fav zep album, 16 July 2009
This review is from: Physical Graffiti (Audio CD)
love this album-its been my fav zep album for over 30 yrs and always will be-its so solid and contains clasics like the rover-my fav zep song
i like it above all other zep albums tho cos it doesnt contain a single boring or duff song and i never tire of this album-u can enjoy it from cover to cover and it doesnt have duff or boring songs which all their other albums do have -though i would say vols one, two, three, four and houses of the holy are all great and well worth owning -but this album has the edge over all them and was their last good album-the few that came later are very poor and not worth owning-i will always have this album and play it and can recomend it to anyone

Exile On Main Street
Exile On Main Street
Offered by westworld-
Price: £9.98

5.0 out of 5 stars masterpiece-always been my fav stones album, 16 July 2009
This review is from: Exile On Main Street (Audio CD)
i have always loved this album-been a stones fan forever and this has always been my fav album by them
tumbling dice is so good-covered and sung by numerous others-along with honky tonk women i think tumbling dice sums up the stones-however every song on this album is great-there are no weak songs-it flows perfectly and has always been the least boring of all the stones catalogue-i also love the 2 classic albums that are beggars banquet and let it bleed-which reccieve lots of plaudits-this album i always sense has been less critically aclaimed -but for me its the best album they ever recorded and the least boring and the easiest to play over and over and forever-and in the same way led zeps physical graffiti was their best ever-both albums-exile on main street by the stones and physical graffiti by led zep are similar-both the loosest, most rushed thru recording and both were dbl albums too-so many similarities and both are my favourites by the 2 respective bands-i can play exile on main street by the stones and physical graffiti by led zep till i die -whereas most albums contain hits and misses and songs u love and others that are duff and they dont flow -whereas this album flows and doesnt have any annoying boring songs on it-just as led zeps graffiti album doesnt either.
sticky fingers the album before this one is good and has some great tunes but it also has some totally duff songs and it is thus boring and fragmented and an album i rarely play cos of its fragmented, hit and miss format-but this album u can bung it on and just listen to it from cover to cover and never need to jump a song or feel annoyed by the duff and boring songs-basically its a friend and rock solid and along with led zeps physical graffiti it will always be playable and always in my collection-other fav albums by the stones are beggars banquet and let it bleed.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must buy album, 16 July 2009
another must buy its great value and very enjoyable-sadly contains 7 poorish early songs at the start of the cd-if i remeber correctly-otherwise every other song is great-the first seven songs which are poor were obviously from the start of their career-ie 1982/83 when they had a very rough sound and when they wrote very crude songs-however -its great value and though a shade less enjoyable than the other latter violaine vol 2 -its still wonderful and like i said great value for money and of course mostly a collection of singles/eps and the like from the box set cllection-most or all of which were not on albums -i love it and can easily recommend it and describe it as great-but i always have to skip the first 7 songs-otherwise simply more cocteaus heaven

5.0 out of 5 stars clasic-another must buy, 16 July 2009
a must buy-it contains many of the tracks on eps and singles from the later half of their career-and its excellent as u would expect-a must own album-excellent value too-and better than the other lullabies vol one twin cd album-
i love this-i already own the singles and ep box set but i bought these two violaine twins cds because its easier to play these than play endless singles and i only bought the singles and ep box set cos these violaine twin cd albums hadnt been released back then-anyway i love this album-i highly recomend it and know u will love it as i do

1.0 out of 5 stars dont buy this one, 16 July 2009
This review is from: Garlands (Audio CD)
please dont buy this one-i have owned it and stopped playing it and wont ever own it or play this/it again-its far worse than anything else they have done and crude, and poorly written and very unpleasant to listen too-its far from a rubbish album-but so inferior to their vast catologue of perfect music that its simply not even worth owning-instead by their other 12 or so albums-it was their first and from 1982 and i began listening to them in 1983-by which time im sure they were ashamed of this album -but they had to learn to perfect their craft and learn to harness liz's voice and co-ordinate their song writing talents etc-anyway dont worry like i said there are about 12 other albums to buy -inc 3 double cds -and if u r that desperate to own everything i did there is a singles box collection -which is lovely and i own it-basically dont buy this one

Head Over Heels
Head Over Heels
Price: £7.99

4.0 out of 5 stars my first cocteaus experience circa 1983, 16 July 2009
This review is from: Head Over Heels (Audio CD)
this album is slightly lacking from the normal standards expected from the cocteaus-like moon and the melodies it only gets 4 stars-as it was their 2nd album they were still practising and refining their craft-it contains some lovely songs but some less than perfect tracks too
sugar hiccup was the first ever song i hear by the cocteaus in 1983 or there abouts at the same time as the song to the siren-which was a collaboration with modern english i think and this mortal coil -poss dead can dance too-im not sure anyway there a 3 songs on that album featuring the cocteaus-16 days/gathering dust/16 days reprise and song to the siren-which were also released on an ep-which is a classic and wonderful -perfect in fact-however this album by the cocteaus alone -is less perfect than that ep by this mortal coil-it does as i said contain some lovely and interesting songs and contains sugar hiccup the first ever song i heard by the cocteaus-and a song i still love to this day-26 yrs later-my younger g/f also loves sugar hiccup-as u will also i guarentee it if u hear it or buy this album-its slightly punkier/rockier/more gothic and more aggressive than the albums that followed and slightly less perfect too-i think its on a par with moon and the melodies -but still an essential buy [smile] however its the album i play least by the cocteaus personally
