Can You Dig It? - The Best Of The Mock Turtles
Can You Dig It? - The Best Of The Mock Turtles

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album by a great band!, 6 April 2006
Not only are the Mock Turtles a great band, but the drummer of the band (Steve Cowan) was actually my primary school teacher (believe it or not, it's true!) and so i'm particulary fond of them. I also recently saw them on Top of the Pops 2. Can you dig It is probably the best song on the advert, and most people will have heard it, after it was blistered all over the Vodafone adverts a few years back.
Classic.

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive..., 5 April 2006
This review is from: Perseverance (Audio CD)
After listening to two or three songs on the album, you'll begin to uncover that many of them sound exactly the same, with little or no vocal variation. The lyrics are rather corny too.
Buy Chimaira instead.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fairly bland..., 3 April 2006
This review is from: Grand Unification (Audio CD)
I'm into alot of emo stuff, plus loadza heavy metal and rock bands, however this band simply doesn't cut it for me. Perhaps it's the fact that everytime I hear Charlie's voice in any of the tracks, I think im about to hear another cheesy pop rock anthem from Busted.

However, I also find Fightstar one of the most bland emo rock outfits out there, with nearly all the songs sounding the same. Ok, so it's better then Busted. Certainly heavier and darker, but isit really that good?

No.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest clay animations of all time!, 21 Mar 2006
I've always loved stop-motion animation (Wallace and Gromit, Nightmare before christmas) but this tops the lot. Beautiful detailed animation makes its powerful towards the eye, with a fantastic array of characters and voices from Johnny Depp, Helen Bohnam Carter plus many more. Buy it

5.0 out of 5 stars UNCUT!, 5 Mar 2006
If you buy the Region 2 edition of this film, it still isn't fully uncut, as the BBFC think the UK public arn't ready for the full-on hardcore gore version. But if you dare view the whole film as it was ment to be seen by the director, then buy this.

3.0 out of 5 stars One-watch movie..., 27 Feb 2006
This review is from: Into The Blue [DVD] (DVD)
I enjoyed this at the cinema, and decided to purchase a copy on DVD. However i was suprised that the second time I watched it, it simply wasn't worth the money. I can imagine this getting really boring after a maximum of 2 watches. :(

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Mp3 player on the market..., 17 Feb 2006
Before I owned this little gem, I had the Ipod shuffle, which was great, but had a pretty pathetic memory. So I decided to purchase this 20GB mp3 player. At first, it froze on me and I had to press the reset button to get it back to normal, however since then there have been no problems.
The software you get with it is good, but it can take ages and ages to load music onto it this way, so using the drag and drop facility in My computer is the better option.
With 20GB, you can store approximatley 8000-12000 mp3 tracks, which, for just over 100 quid, is an offer you shouldn't refuse.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tarantino's worst film? YES!, 7 Feb 2006
Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, all quality movies worth watching over and over. But Jackie Brown was a major letdown. There is little on screen violence, which isn't a bad thing, however it's a change from QT's usual lash-outs of extreme and graphic brutality.
The storyline is great, but the film never really gets going, and is far far too long. It could have been over and done with in under 2 hours, but for some reason it drags on and on for more them 2 and a half.
I found none of the characters appealing, finsding it hard to relate to any of them, and frankly didn't give a damn what happened to any of them, and that goes for the money too.
Why Tarantino? Why oh why?

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest zombie movies of all time!, 5 Feb 2006
George A Romero invented this genre of movies, but he intergrated a comedy factor into almost all of his zombie gorefests. Lucio Fulci's Zombie Flesh eaters however, is full on horror with almost no humour at all.
Everytime I watch this movie I find the music very haunting and regard it as one of the simplest but most effective musical scores in cinematic history. However I think i'd have a hard time finding someone who would agree with me on that one, but its true!
The plot is very simple. A womans father who has been working somewhere in the equator has been reported missing, and two of his boats have been found abandoned, with all the crew brutally eaten alive. With no time to waste, the woman sets off with a few other people to find her father. However, after realisingthe dead are returing to life on the desert island, and with nowhere to hide, will she make it out alive?
The whole thing starts off rather slow, with little action, gore or horror until the last 30 minutes. Infact, the film overall is rather slow paced, which is why I only gave it 4 stars.
Now the bit you've all been waiting for. The gore. And yes, there is plenty. Although maybe not as gorey as Dawn of the Dead, it's all done in a fantastically realistic way. However the 'splinter in the eye' scene is not as impressive as it's made out to be.

4.0 out of 5 stars !, 2 Feb 2006
This review is from: Box Of The Banned [DVD] (DVD)
When is first saw this boxset I almost cried with excitement. You may think i'm some sort of sadist sicko, but these films, despite the fact they were banned, are actually very good (give or take Driller Killer which is the biggest pile of 5hit i've ever watched).
Zombie Flesh eaters has to be the best film on here, with Evil Dead taking second place. Although Last house on the Left is a great movie, it's been cut to shredds here by the censors, leaving it abit mashed up. Your better off watching the region 1 version.
