3.0 out of 5 stars Gets worse and worse, 3 Jan. 2004
What can I say, I loved macauley mcculkin-i cant spell - in the first movie home alone, his parents leave without on holiday accidentally - dont ask how, they just do! It really was a classic christmas movie, to watch with the family. The second was still good with the same Kevin Mccalister, this time going on the wrong plane - again dont ask me how they just do! This was good but not as good as the original. Both contain funny moments that will have you laughing or at least grinning. The last two, are by different actors and the story has been overdone. I reccomend you only see the first two. The last are movies trying to get money off the name. They would have been better to end it at two in my opinion

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, 3 Jan. 2004
This is a true story based on LouAnne Johnson who uses unorthodox teachings to try and save the lives of these kids, from rough backrounds of drugs, violence, guns etc
She uses bribes, takes them to the themepark etc
This is a good film for any fan of good movies. Those who say its predictable, are right. But this is a true story based on the book 'My posse don't do homework'- that has been re-made into the book 'Dangerous MInds'

5.0 out of 5 stars Believe me!When you read it, you don't want to put it away.,, 31 Dec. 2003
This review is from: Dangerous Minds (Paperback)
Gangs, drugs, violence, family problems, bad kids, good teachers, a story that bring you the struggles and delightful........... This story was about these high school students who live in a bad neighborhood. They struggled with family problems, gangs, drugs, and even with their education. Ms. Johnson was a new teacher who came to their classroom without knowing the fact that these kids were in a special courses and no one would dare to teach them. She tried so many to get their attention. She bribed with candy, taught them karate, help them with family problem , and lead them through their bright future. I really enjoy reading this book because every chapter had a good point that the author brings to me. It reminds me of my high school year and my favorite teacher who had taught me so many things. When reading this book, I didn't want to stop at all because there are so much details and action in this book. I really recommend this book to everyone and hope that they enjoy it like I do

This is a great book by robin cook. Several deaths occur, that seem totally unconnected, but you eventually find out they are all intertwined and are linked to one another in some way or other. Robin Cook does well in capturing the audiences attention, and keeps you waiting in suspense for the whole book. This is a great read and I recommend this to anyone who enjoys detective novels, mystery, or just a great read! you won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hugely underrated, 13 Nov. 2003
What can I say? Everclear are such a uniqe, amazing and insightful band. i don't know how to classify them. Punk rock i suppose. But dont get me wrong they are undoubtedly one of the greatest and underrated bands out there. They deserve to rake in millions of cash, like some other rubbish bands and singers out there. Anyway, let me start of by saying, Art alexakis is an amazing singer and has great meaning in his lyrics. Each song on the album is great. I love 'so much for the afterglow' because its just an amazing intro track. The first 40 secs are humming/ and chants of ' ooohs and ahhhs' then cuts in to heavy but not that heavy guitar riffs that sound great. Other songs like 'Father of mine' and 'I will buy you a new life' are so insightful and meaningful-i know i use that word too much!!Other songs like 'amphetamine' and 'normal like you' are great stand out tracks, that you can sing along to. Everclear are a really meaningful punk - band, an grown-up punk band that expresses common day issuses - not singing about skateboarding and being dumped by ur girlfriend. Great guitar riffs + great vocals + great lyrics = amazing album. Other good tracks are 'sunflowers' and 'white men in black suits'. PLEASE I BEG YOU. GO AND BUY THIS ALBUM. ANY MUSIC LISTENER WITH GREAT TASTE WILL ADORE THIS QUALITY! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! If you like 'em and I know you will, try out a band called 'Lit'. The album is ' Atomic ' Its amazing too

5.0 out of 5 stars Underrated, 13 Nov. 2003

I listened to a couple songs of this once, and did not a hesitate to buy, and neither should you. Lit are an underrated band, and aren't very big in the uk though they ought to be. Lit are I suppose you could call punk, but really they are not raw and thrashy or heavy as others. They are what I describe as a Grown-up punk band. They have songs with lots of meaning, like 'Something to Someone' which is one of many great tracks. The songs are all very melodic and catchy, soemthing you could sing along to. All the songs are good or great, there isn't a bad song on here, only songs that aren't as good as others. My favourites are 'Next time around', 'Everything's Cool' and the acoustic 'Happy in the meantime'. The lead singer's - A. Jay Poppof - vocals are simply amazing. There are many good things I can say about this album I don't know where to start. Great vocals, great guitar riffs = great songs- simple as that! Lit have real talent and are extremely underrated. If you think bands like Good charlotte, Sum 41 etc are too young and slightly too teenagerish - which I don't I love both - and you're looking for something less heavy but more meldoic and meaningful, definitely give Lit a try. Any music listener with good taste will appreciate this!
