This is a brilliant album. Harold McNair manages to play a flute or sax as if it was a percussive instrument - the effect is ahead of it's time, but still well balanced and true to the spirit of jazz. McNair is probably one of the most underrated musicians from the great era of 60 / 70's jazz. Buy this album and then search the www for The Hipster (at least 7 stars out of 5).
