5.0 out of 5 stars The Maltese Tenor, 5 Jan. 2012
This review is from: The Maltese Tenor (Audio CD)
Disc received in excellent condition, and received in very good time.
Calleja`s voice is excellent, comparable to the best Italian tenors. At his age he is idealy suited to sing in Verdi`s Operas, but he must notover do it, I remember what happened to Roberto Alagna and Giuseppe di Stefano, their voices became strained by singing the "spinto" arias demanded by Verdi. However he is still young and Puccini`s music is his ideal. But I am sure that at 40 years he will become a great tenor and will be excellent also in Verdi`s operas.
Bravo Joseph Calleja.

5.0 out of 5 stars Colonel Mike Hoare, 13 Feb. 2011
This review is from: The Seychelles Affair (Paperback)
Colonel Mike Hoare... an Officer and a Gentleman. I was domiciled in the Republic in those heady days and knew a good number of the participants then.
The book written by Mike Hoare is very accurate, the reason the caper failed was because of loose talk overheard by some agents, who reported to MI6, so of course some fruit which was smuggled in by a passenger, was found by a custom`s Officer, who then proceeded to search all the mercenaries` luggage.... of course the game was up when the weapons were discovered.... and the fight started. That the Air India flight was hi-jacked was a very controversial charge against the mercenaries who stood trial in South Africa, and the trial was also surrounded in controversy, and many South Africans thought that the trial was a traversy of justice being very political. I do not blame P.W. Botha for being so strict, he was merely under pressure from the International Do-Gooders who threatened to ban South African Airlines Internationally unless the Colonel and his Officers received a stiff sentence. That is the way most cookies crumbled. But to most South African Citizens` satisfaction everybody was freed earlier.... .
This book makes very good reading and is a lesson for not trusting any politician.
I wish the Colonel good health and a long life, wherever he might be.

Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East
Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East

5.0 out of 5 stars 6 Days of War, 8 July 2009
Excellent write up.
Michael B. Oren is an honest author. For once in that war, the chickens came home to roost upon the Arab armies`, their intentions to wipe Israel and Israelis off the Middle Eastern Map rebounded on them.
It shows up the Syrian treachery, Nasser`s weakness, and the Jordanian opportunism blowing up in their face.
Long live Israel, perhaps now Israel has learned its lesson, and not to place its trust upon its "friends".

This is a very good book. It follows a number of books written about the " great climate change" swindle.
Of course the various rat-bags, idiots,ex flower people, toad lickers and mushroom eaters, will always decry and will continue to debunk the real scientists who show up these luddites and their hysterical pseudo science.

I am Maltese and well steeped in the history of the Malta 1565 Great Siege.
I must say that the author did a good job in his relating with the heroic deeds of the besieged. One must also remain aware of the actual fighting skills of the Maltese in the routing of the infidels indeed never for a moment did the besieged falter in their Faith while being attacked by the fierce islamic hordes renowned for their ruthless and cruel ways when conducting war.
This Great Siege also was a prelude for the Turkish final defeat in the naval battle of Lepanto.

A very good expose about the "global warming swindle" embraced by swindlers , whose doom and gloom predictions, serves to them a good living , by brainwashing various idiots, cretins, and of course the usual set of politicians whose lifetime goals is to extract more taxes out of the credibility of John Citizen.

30 years ago , it was about global freezing, now that freezing is debunked , the swindlers have invented global warming.

5.0 out of 5 stars the truth about muhammad, 17 Nov. 2006
This latest book by Robert Spencer is well written , and like all his other books about the islamic cult , it has been well researched . The historical facts about the "prophet" muhammad are accurate, and only the ones who cannot face truth , would fault it.

I recommend this book, and its author. Robert Spencer is an honest writer , and is among the best in his field, along with Melanie Phillips , Oriana Fallaci and others .
