5.0 out of 5 stars sensational, 1 Nov 2011

One of the best albums I've heard in a long time. In my opinion most of chart music at the moment is absolute garbage so to have such a brilliant album from coldplay it truly refreshing. Dont listen to the negative reviews, from what I can see the majority of them dont like coldplay's style of music so I dont know what they;re doing buying the album let alone reviewing it!!

Heres my ratings song by song (I have grouped some together as some are merely intros to the main song)

Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven: 10/10
Paradise: 10/10 (truly epic song, musical perfection)
Charlie Brown: 10/10
Us Against the World: 9/10
MMIX/Every Teardrop is a Waterfall: 10/10
Major Minus: 6/10
U.F.O: 7/10
Princess of China: 9/10
Up in Flames: 10/10
A Hopeful Transmission/Dont Let it Break Your Heart: 8/10
Up with the Birds: 9/10

Coldplay are musical genuises and if you like their previous music then go out and but this, you will not be disappointed.

I, like most people, have been generally disappointed by Oasis's last few albums. Standing On the Shoulder Of Giants was awful, Heathen Chemistry was dull, Don't Believe The Truth was better and had its moments (The Importance of Being Idle, Let There Be Love) but was still nowhere near the standard that we have come to expect from Oasis.

Dig Out Your Soul however, is a back to Oasis at their best. Most of the songs on here would not be out of place on Defnitely Maybe. I must admit, after the first couple of listens I wasn't convinced. But the album grows on you and now its certainly my third favourite Oasis album by a long way (behind, of course, Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory).

Im Outta Time is a brilliant song, written and sung by Liam, and one of the highlights of the album. The Shock of the Lightening is also superb, and a great first single (cant believe it got beaten to number 1 by pink!!). Bag It Up and The Turning are great openers and Soldier On, also written by Liam, is a very good end to the album. Its no Champagne Supernova but still a very good song.

Im going to see them play at Bournmouth on 20th October, cant wait!! Surprised that they are playing To Be Where Theres Life tho, as its one of the only ones on the album that im not too keen on.

Here, in my opinion, is the ratings of the songs:

Bag It Up - 8/10
The Turning - 9/10
Waiting For The Rapture - 7/10
The Shock of the Lightening - 10/10
Im Outta Time - 10/10
(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady - 6/10
Falling Down - 8/10
To Be Where There's Life - 7/10
Aint Got Nothin' - 8/10
The Nature of Reality - 8/10
Soldier On - 9/10
