Sumptuous classical romance, 20 Dec. 2012
I remember loving this film when it was originally released and have just purchased it again, and was totally blown away, again. The film has not dated as the story is classic and Bronte like, it is set against the haunting Beauty of the Cornish coast in the 1800s, excellently acted, and shot, with a great sound track. It has a Jane Ayer / weathering Heights feel, with the story being of all consuming love and the lives of people outcast from normal society. It's sumptuous and a joy, hence 5 Stars.
