5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful and timeless, 25 Mar 2014

This is classic Lone Justice and a great addition to their all-to-small back catalogue. Usually such archive releases are "one for the enthusiast" aka a bit ropey really. Not this. The musicality and production is worthy of a studio album and captures all the raw, real power of LJ. Long-time fan or new, this is a great album.

Can't stop listening to this, especially the "mash-ups" of carols with other PB songs - contemporary, creative and inspiring. Real Christmas music that focuses on the real point of Christmas. Good prompt delivery by Eden too.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great but... Why does the UK not get Fade into You?, 13 Mar 2013
This review is from: The Music of Nashville (Audio CD)
Great music, great series. But now go and read the Amazon.com page and T-Bone Burnett's explanation about why Fade into You (THE song of the series) had to be left off the album... But Amazon and the record co have sorted it, and the US Amazon customers can download Fade into You as an MP3. What have we done in the UK not to be valued like this, Amazon?!

2.0 out of 5 stars Peavey eCoustic e208 amplifier - disappointing, 26 July 2012

I'm afraid I was disappointed with this amp and returned it to the seller (GAK via Amazon, who were great by the way) and traded up to a Laney LA65D. The Peavey has a good basic set of controls and the added appeal of a spring reverb. HOWEVER it was just too noisy in the wrong way - when turned on and with gains to zero, no input, there was a significant hiss and buzz. The built-in chorus made this even worse - hugely noisy - and for me rendered the amp unusable as I mainly play in a quiet venue (church!). Shame as the tone when playing was good, there was plenty of volume, and the outer build quality and look af the amp is very good. I just couldn't live with that level of white noise between songs. Oh, and a big "thump" through the speakers when turning on and off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laney LA65D acoustic amplifier, 26 July 2012

A very good amp - plenty of volume, good functionality range with the built-in chorus and reverb (both of which give good quality effects, and importantly no hiss through the chorus), and feels solidly built. The tone and transparency are good in my opinion. Like others I like the kick-back option to let the sound project up to me and audience. The control knobs are positive and of good quality, although I admit I would like the push switches to be a little more so (quibble!).
Most important for me is that the amp is quiet in it's "passive" state! In other words, no hiss or significant hum when it is on with no input. And no thump through the speakers when turning on and off.
So far (only a couple of weeks) I am completely happy with the LA65D, a very nice amp with good functionality and performance in a slightly unusual but very useful package, at a good price point.
