3.0 out of 5 stars The Yetties : Among The Leaves So Green, 15 April 2015

One of my mother's favourites. A lovely, cheery folksy number though this may well be a faster paced rendition of this Classic which many 50+ year olds may recall from their much younger school days.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Secret Sisters- a secret worth sharing!, 22 Feb. 2015

Nothing is guaranteed more to relax and de- stress you than the magically beautiful harmonies of these two sisters from America. Hark back to an age of simpler but purer sound. Whatever your preferred musical tastes this is such a breath of fresh air - both the title track and the album. These melodies accompanied with guitar, piano and backing instruments are both haunting yet embracing. Give yourselves a treat. Wonderful!

If you like AC DC then you'll know that their music speaks for itself. Even as an AC DC fan I've never considered every track on any of their albums to be excellent but this album is probably one of their more consistent, seeing something of a return to their older form with a good spread of strong tracks at that. The band sound tight and polished. Seriously enjoyable listening with an excellent sound that has remained entirely unique to AC DC for a long time now. Definitely recommended.

Very enjoyable watching for the family (if you're into the period costume drama genre). I watched this over the Christmas holiday with my family and we were all glued to the screen. Watching on DVD also means not having to endure increasingly frequent and long TV commercial breaks which are obtrusive and detract audience focus. Downton Abbey benefits from uninterrupted viewing. Perhaps not quite up to the standard of the initial two series when we were still getting to know the characters but certainly more uplifting then the 2012 Christmas Special. Despite the turmoils and tremors of exiting cast members and new faces, Downton Abbey still manages to deliver. Naturally,The London Season Works best if you have been watching the series from the very beginning. If you haven't yet acquired the earlier stories then do so!

4.0 out of 5 stars Captivating Viewing, 19 Mar. 2014

Excellent dalek story during Peter Davidson's custody of the role. One of the better dalek stories, nestling nicely in an altogether dark and menacing atmosphere. The opening scenes clearly echo the tones of Tom Baker's 'Genesis'. The daleks and their henchmen here are clearly nasty and the body count is quite impressive. The story still stands up well though the role of the Doctor's companions has moved on and developed somewhat since the 1980s and a modern audience will find the pace a little slow at times. Ordered and received in a matter of days. Perhaps it was me, I hadn't taken in this was a Dutch import. I needn't have worried, all spoken dialogue is in English despite the Dutch text on the DVD cover. Definitely recommended viewing if you like Dr Who and even more so the daleks.
