5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!, 22 Nov 2013

MediaDevil screen protectors look expensive but they are worth every penny. Firstly because they go on without bubbles or wrinkles so you only have to use one of the two in the pack (and they provide a nice credit card calendar to flatten it all off). Second because they do not impede the touchscreen (and I have tested this on an iPod, an iPad, an iPhone, an android phone,...). Third the plastic protection shrugs off dirt and polishes up clear until it is almost invisible (and they provide a nice microfibre cloth to do the polishing). And fourthly... it came with sweeties!!!

I have rediscovered what a Retina display looks like! Once the muck vanished from my iPad with this truly Magic spray. Now I have used it on the PC, on the smartphone, on the sunglasses, ... next the windscreen!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great, but then what is...?, 22 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good bits: I like the sound that these 'phones produce and they have a decent level of bass too. The microphone works well for phone calls and voice memos (I currently use it on an iPhone but previously on an Android).
Not so good bits: the phones are not marked to show which is L and R! After a quick test I found that the microphone in on the RH earbud... now I just have to remember. The cable is plastic and therefore gets a bit tangled up—I prefer the RHA headset that uses a fabric covered cable which stops it getting all fouled up. However the RHA has a very flimsy microphone control which broke in a couple of weeks so hence the Senns!

5.0 out of 5 stars Real leather with a nice texture, 22 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very high quality pouch for an iPad and it is made of real leather not the plastic fake leather. Inside it is lined with a soft velvety plush to protect your screen. Don't be put off when you first get it and it is quite tight to get the iPad in; the leather softens up and it gets easy to use.

HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer (Print, Copy, Scan, Fax)
HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer (Print, Copy, Scan, Fax)

1.0 out of 5 stars An astonishingly flawed printer, 17 Aug 2012
This printer has a critical fault for which there is no solution: if it enters Power Save Mode it freezes and can only be unfrozen by unplugging the power supply. You cannot stop the printer from entering Power Save Mode and Power Save Mode cannot be turned off.

HP have set the printer to enter Power Save Mode after 1800 seconds by default. You must either use the printer every 1799 seconds, day and night, or accept that it will enter Power Save Mode and freeze... and you will have to unplug it and plug it back in every time you want to use it. This may be acceptable for an infrequently used printer but for a fax that may have to receive a transmission at any time, it a serious defect that makes it unusable.

You can change the Power Save Mode timer to 18 hours which will means that you only have to use the printer once every 17:59:59. This makes it usable for most of a day but it does not solve the problem. To change the timer you will need to follow these arcane actions exactly:

1) Unplug the power lead from printer.
2) Hold down the # and 6 keys while plugging the power lead back into the printer. Continue to hold keys down until printer says SEMI NVM RESET. You can now let go of the keys. The printer will want you to set language, but don't do that yet.
2) Press the * and # keys at same time until ********######## appears on the screen.
3) Press the keys 1 2 4. UNDERWARE: and a series of letters and numbers will appear on the screen.
4) Press the right arrow 6 times until you see SYSTEM MENU, press the OK button.
5) Press the left arrow key once and you will see SYSTEM MODE TIMEOUT. Press the OK button.
6) The timeout will show a number of seconds (usually 1800). Press 65535 on the keypad to change it to 18 hours. Press the OK button.
7) Press the red X button twice to get back to the point where it asked you to set the language. Go ahead and set the language... and location.
8) Now it sees that there are used ink cartridges installed and it wants to run an alignment. Press the OK button once.
9) It asks you to put in a sheet of paper. Put in paper and press OK. It will print an alignment sheet.
10) It now asks you to put the alignment sheet on the scanner. DO NOT DO THIS! Instead, press the red X button. It will cancel the alignment and go back to the date and time.

Now remember to use the printer at least once every 18 hours until you buy a new one from a different manufacturer... Canon is supposed to be good.

[Edit] Further 'good' news about this printer. The ink cartridges hold only 9ml of ink. So the tricolour cartridge has 3ml of each colour. This means that your cartridges will be empty after no time (assuming you have persuaded the printer to print at all). Be careful if you opt for non-HP cartridges with more ink as the printer considers them to be defective and won't print until you replace them with an expensive HP version with less than half the ink.

This is the most expensive screen protector in Amazon but if I had to buy another, this would be my first choice.

What does the extra money buy you?
- Quick delivery. My screen protectors arrived before the ipod I ordered from Amazon.
- Simple application. I have applied screen protection to two previous ipod Touches, two Blackberrys, one smartphone and compare to all of them this was easy. It worked first time: no bubbles, no dust particles, no fingerprints. I am not sure whether it is the type of plastic used or the plastic card provided, but I would buy more of these just because they are so easy to apply.
- Clarity. These screen protectors are incredibly clear and the detail of video, photo, and app graphics is very sharp and bright.
- Sensitivity. The previous protector that I had on my ipod touch made my gestures unpredictable - sliding across the screen sometimes was interpreted as a tap, and sometimes taps were not even noticed. It is utterly different with this protector - it works as if it was not there at all.

And the final thing... you get a mini pack of Haribo in the envelope! Eat them while you wait for the Amazon order to arrive ;-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent female fronted gothic metal band, 22 Jan 2008
This review is from: Alice's Inferno (Audio CD)
Listen to this album and it will grow and grow on you. I first bought it for 'Lunatic Asylum' which has the most fantastic set of opening bars which the rest of the song develops into a fully fledged metal epic. Since first listening, the next two tracks, 'Reminiscences' and 'In the Forest', have become firm favourites that I play over and over. And this does not detract from the rest of the album which is superb!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasing goth metal album that grows and grows on you, 14 Dec 2007
This review is from: Seducia (Audio CD)
The album is one of those that you need to hear all of the tracks rather than pick and choose, and to hear it several times to really appreciate it. It offers an excellent range of styles from the most popularist track on the album, Hangman's Lullaby, to the rougher, 'Serpentized' and 'Children of Chaos',and the more folksy ballad 'Unbroken'. As such it should please metal fans as well as goths.

Riina Rinkinen's voice is the real highlight. It shows remarkable range, from the light and soaring in tracks like 'Unbroken' and 'Dead Silent' to gritty and throaty in 'Frost Night' and 'Empress of the Dark'.

In the end it is an album in the style of Nightwish, Lacuna Coil and other Nordic metallic goths. If this is you, buy it, if only for Riina's voice.

When I first bought CA's eTrust suite, I was concerned that it was so inexpensive: at almost half the price of its competitors would I be getting half the functionality?

What I did get was a wonderful package; it has kept viruses at bay, cleared my PC of adware and spyware, kept out intruders, and it has managed cookies particularly well keeping them to a manageable number that I want to have. It updates itself very frequently and in the background without affecting normal performance of the PC.

For me the most important feature of eTrust is the way it works unobtrusively (but effectively) in the background. eTrust works so silently and cohabits so easily with other applications that you wonder if it is working at all!

My recommendation... take the plunge and buy CA's eTrust internet security suite!
