Had this drive just over a year. Just died. I can't possibly recommend it to anyone wanting safe data storage.

1.0 out of 5 stars Scrap, 17 May 2013
The poorest laptop I have ever bought. The keyboard failed within days and DVD drive quickly followed it, not being able to record anything and failing to even play most discs. The laptop also regularly overheats and slows down badly when using anything with a lot of graphics - streaming is a particular issue. The single worst feature though is the connection to the wireless internet, which continually drops out - the worst problem comes when the laptop is switched to standby - every single time the laptop is placed onto standby it cuts the connection, which can only be reconnected by using the Windows "repair" function.

Avoid.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unreliable, 12 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very poor consistency. I have bought a couple of packets of these discs and, of twenty discs, fourteen have failed to record. This has been across three computers and different burning software. In one packet, NINE of the ten discs failed. Not good enough, so I'll go back to Verbatim, which are only marginally better in my experience.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shockingly bad, 10 Aug 2012
This is a terrible product. After installation it almost immediately slowed by PC down substantially - a brand new HP laptop took over ten minutes before a webpage could be opened - starting my wife's laptop at the same time (she has a different make of laptop and uses different anti-virus) took a lot less time. Continual operation is often slow and unreliable. The helpline / website by Norton was poor and seemed to blame other programmes. After removing it from the PC, as it made the computer unusable, and installing another program from a different supplier, it is now working fine with few delays. I won't comment which product I replaced Norton with as that might seem to indicate some sort of bias, but the bottom line is that Norton was extremely poor in terms of PC performance, had a mind of its own and seldom did what it was set up to do, often appearing to revert to its preferred setup and not what I had asked.

All in all, very poor and very inconvenient. A lot of other reviewers on this site seem to have no such problems, but keep and open mind when considering it - there are better alternatives out there, and I feel that I have wasted my money and been inconvenienced significantly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, 19 Aug 2011
This review is from: Miranda - Series 1 [DVD] (DVD)
This is a great example of getting onto TV if your Oxbridge chums help you to do so. Just unfunny and undeserving of even one series on the BBC, it is a real shame they have gone for a second.

1.0 out of 5 stars AVOID - POOR PICTURE QUALITY, 26 Jun 2011
This might be an easy device to install and set up but the picture quality is poor - in particular the contrast is awful and very dark compared to other devices connected - Blu-Ray, DVD and the TV's built-in FreeView. For a little more money you should be able to avoid this item and but something better. That is certainly my plan.

Also, the parent company for Grundig - Harvard PLC - were rubbish when I tried to contact them. Don't waste even more money trying to call their "helpline" as I did.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rip-off, 18 May 2011
While arguments will be made for this item, particularly as it may appeal to those not interested in the very good but highly over-priced "Darkness/Promise" box set, there is no justification for its current format. To include some scraps that could easily have been put on the full box set shows a cynical edge from Bruce (who presumably must have endorsed this) and from Sony/CBS. This follows other equally cynical releases, such as the Wal-Mart "Greatest Hits", that was then followed by the next "Greatest Hits" album - following, if you remember (and with largely the same track listing) 2003's "The Essential" and 1995's "Greatest Hits" - throw a few morsels at the fans and expect them to buy it all up - great idea in times of recession. It merely Paints a Vulgar Picture of Springsteen. Avoid.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shamefully bad, even for the 80's, 3 May 2011
This is simply awful. There is no nostalgia factor that can save this rancid rubbish - terrible acting, cheap production values, some of the worst plots and dialogue ever and really, really bad acting. I am surprised it got past the pilot episode and that eleven episodes were made. Just avoid - this is not a single penny of your money and not a second of your time. Avoid like the plague.

1.0 out of 5 stars I hate this thing!!!, 7 Nov 2010
I hate this HDD. It is awful. Slow (up to ten minutes to appear once switched on!), unreliable and often fails. I have tried it across three computers and it acts the same way. I just know that some day soon it will fail and I'll loose the data. It is so bad I've ordered a spare - not exactly what I had in mind I bought it.

1.0 out of 5 stars The end of a pretty dismal decade., 13 Oct 2010
This review is from: Le Noise (Audio CD)
Neil Young hasn't, in my opinion, really made a decent album since Silver and Gold. There have been flourishes, and the odd moment (in, for example, Living With War, Prairie Wind and Chrome Dreams II). This album simply follows on in that same dreary path. The addition of Daniel Lanois as producer doesn't really help, and the general tone of the album (apart from the two acoustic tracks) is boring and almost seems to have been done to mask the poverty of the songs. Those two acoustic songs, though, are excellent - maybe like some of the highlights from the rest of the last decade NY should have kept a lot back and released fewer albums, keeping the dross for some future volume of the Archives Series. In some ways, no different from parts of the 1980's, except perhaps in that decade he varied his style massively and experimented substantially, for good or bad. He also ended the decade with what I think is his best album, Freedom, and the pretty decent This Note's For You. The hope is that NY might now produce something decent, and that Le Noise isn't simply another part of his decade-long slide into obscurity.
