Whilst the situations described are recognisably North american, the tone of these marvellously written and arresting stories is not American, but different. A sort of Canadian Flannery O'Connor, without the gothic elements? A wonderful and overdue discovery.
I have recordings by Benjamin Britten and Neville Marriner. They were mangled on an upload so I wanted a new recording. Have always rated Mr Pinnock since his Handel Concerti grossi.. The Bach is excellent. It will disappoint no-one.
