5.0 out of 5 stars On The Slow Train Again, 6 Jun. 2011
This is the follow up book to On The Slow Train, and what a delight. The chapter pages now have a small map, which give an idea of the route.
This is well written by the author Michael Williams, you don't have to be a train spotter or anorak to enjoy. A varied
collection of branch lines around the country are featured, so it shouldn't be too difficult for most people to try out
one or two of these lines for themselves.A cracking read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Humax HDR-Fox T2 (500gb), 26 May 2011
I bought this unit after my previous PVR had failed. I have owned Humax PVRs before and were reasonably pleased with their performance.
This unit however is in a different league. The on screen graphics are much improved, with the initial set up a doddle. The HD picture is
superb on my 37" Toshiba TV,with the recorded HD programmes also superb.I think Humax have got it right with this model,as previous models have
had relatively noisy cooling fans, but this unit's fan is just perceptable even when the lounge is quiet.

This is a superb book. you don't have to be a full-on railway enthuisiast to appreciate the journeys undertaken by the author,Michael Williams.
The journeys are described with a little history and geography, that make you want to pick up an atlas to see exactly where the lines run.
I will be checking out a few of these lines this summer.I think that a small scale map of the featured line on the title page would have been a nice idea, but overall a good little book.

I have been using this bit of kit for the last month now, and have to say that it "does what it says on the tin". This was going to be a cheap temporary option to having a fully wired hands free system in the car, but i will now stick with this. It works great with voice recognition via my BlackBerry Bold handset, and the volume is fine even at higher road speeds. Recommended.
