5.0 out of 5 stars Most comprehensive interiors book there is, 24 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm a huge fan of interior design and have stacks of interiors books but this one is the best i've come across. As well as the case studies from the TV show, the scope covered is extremely broad and the research that has gone into each section is extensive. Despite decorating my home quite recently, I was having real problems with the space as I have a multifunctional kitchen-dining area. This book had innovative ideas for zoning and flow to configure the space so that it suits your family perfectly. I really recommend this book, to novices and more accomplished designers alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning book, delicious recipes, 11 Nov 2013
I have been to the Secret Larder Supper Club and seen how James creates delicious, amazing meals whilst still being able to chat to his guests, have time to sit with us and generally not get in a flap, I knew that I needed Do-Ahead Dinners in my kitchen! The recipes are really original and unique but most importantly they work - the simple breakdown of how in advance you can prepare your meal really helps and ensures that you can create impressive meals but also spend time with your friends, not just ferrying food in and out and quickly eating before you have to get back to your kitchen to slave away. A godsend and a brilliant book!

5.0 out of 5 stars oh, BEEhave!, 7 Mar 2013
This book is really unique in its design, I love it! The retro style mixed with the beautiful photography makes this book lovely to look at. As for the recipes, there are some really unusual ones, like Gin and Tonic Dessert and Chocasheek! The Black Beehive Cake is genuinely the tastiest thing I've ever eaten. The seasonal theme of the chapters makes this book an ideal source of inspiration when needing ideas for presents for Mother's Day, Easter, Valentine's Day as well as gifts for Christmas. The book even includes no-butter alternatives for January when you are feeling the bloat! Stacie's charm, wit and informal approach comes through in all the recipes and the family feel makes this book a great gift for friends and family as well as being a perfect one to keep for yourself.

This book is beautifully illustrated and contains a serious message within the narrative. It is a perfect story for teaching children about global warming and deforestation.

4.0 out of 5 stars challenging but rewarding, 5 Oct 2012

A challenging but rewarding piece of European Literature. Also read 'The Murder of a Buttercup', it is dramatically shorter but also displays the influence James Joyce had on Doblin, the author.

Richard E Grant was made for this role. Extremely funny and very moving - it rightly deserves its cult classic status.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple recipes, sustainable fishing, 4 Oct 2012
This review is from: Fish Easy (Hardcover)
I love how this book is laid out with simple instructions for cooking, 'what to ask from the fishmonger' sections and the chapters organised in cooking methods - very helpful! I love how quick a lot of these recipes are and the fact that all the recipes are using sustainable fish is very reassuring. Mitch Tonks is the king of cooking fish!

5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable as ever, 4 Oct 2012
I have bought Oz's Pocket Wine Book for many years and I will continue to do so as I am never disappointed. The annual updates are so useful, as well as the indispensable 'best years to buy', new producers are added as well as current information about lesser known regions. I find the vintage charts really useful and rely on them when buying my wine.
