This is the first early Stones album I have ever bought and it won't be the last. Excellent music and excellent production.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ezio, again...!, 13 April 2014

The same old formula seems to work for Ezio every time. I love the quality of the lyrics and the music is good but not as good as their first. Excellent album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quantic at his best, 1 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Ondatropica [VINYL] (Vinyl)
This I understand, is the latest outing of Will Holland aka Quantic since his move to Colombia. The album is entirely recorded using analogue techniques and this shows in the sound quality. The music is a fabulous blend of latin and funk and really should grace your collection if you are remotely interested in this man and his music.

2.0 out of 5 stars Black and white...?, 9 April 2011
Black and white...? I don't think so.
Using this cartridge on a good quality cotton fibre paper like Somerset Enhanced still results in blue or green photographs. When will digital catch up with the real world...? Black and white means black and white...!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK... just, 9 April 2011
This review is from: The Listening (Audio CD)
Why oh why oh why does this gurl have to use autotune on every one of these tracks. This one thing completely ruins this whole album. Maybe I should have bought the acoustic version...?

5.0 out of 5 stars Staggeringly beautiful music., 17 Aug 2009
This review is from: A Love Extreme [12" VINYL] (Vinyl)
You know, whichever way you look at it, Ms Faithful simply cannot sing. In spite of that, this album; this collection of music and expression is exquisite. I bought this as a two disc vinyl boxed set but when it arrived I only had two disc one's. Amazon were very quick to put this right. I am very pleased I bought this on vinyl and not CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old Father Thames... It seems he's drowned...!, 17 Aug 2009
Throughout the history of popular music there are many stand out pieces written and performed by many stand out artists. This album I think should go down in history, as one of those special pieces. It is very probably one of the finest collections of musical art that has ever been created. The fact that it comes from one of the most inventive times in music simply adds to its overall genius. The shame is that the group that created this piece of art went on to become one of the most embarassing acts creating the utter drivel of the eighties.

4.0 out of 5 stars Should be 'Old Slickhand', 7 Dec 2008
This review is from: Pilgrim (Audio CD)
Mmmm... many folk have criticised this album and given it a very negative rating. For me, this is a fabulous CD containing a fabulous collection of music. OK, it is very slick and very modern even by 2008 standards but these guys have to move on and keep with the times or get laughed at like the Stones. I have had this album on vinyl for many years but have just bought it on CD. Is it as good...? No...! The vinyl version is stunning...!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 'punk' album, 7 Dec 2008
This review is from: Look Sharp (Audio CD)
This is a fantastic rocky 'punk' album produced during the mid to late seventies. The lyrics are up there with the likes of Paul Weller but the sound quality of this CD is pretty grim. The treble is very brash and splashy and the whole sound is very thin and edgy. I guess the truth of the matter is that, back in those days, it didn't matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous glamrock music..., 14 May 2008
This review is from: Roxy Music (Audio CD)
It has been said that this is the very best recorded piece of music ever. I can't agree with that unfortunately. I say unfortunately because back in '72 I was a massive Roxy Music fan. This album outlined what it was to be thirteen years old. It was the introduction of the synthesiser and Eno with the VCS3. It was brand new and radical. It was extreme and it was art. This had never been done before. Oh how I pity the kids of today.

Take a listen to Ladytron. This for me, the stand out track of the whole piece. Sit and listen and then watch the film Velvet Goldmine. I dare you to relive glamrock without the lipstick and the eyemakeup. This is art.
