I have been waiting for this to come out and wasn’t disappointed even though it wasn’t free I believe the money goes to an animal charity.

Written in Nicky's usual interesting style this carries straight on from betrayed when Damien is sent to Chicago by Kane to get information to help him take over the Chicago pack naturally Sam the acting alpha isn't going to rollover and submit.

After meeting Damien in the very first book he has appealed as a bad boy character and this one centres around him and Sam and his inner conflicts. Has Damien met his match with Sam? you will have to read it to find out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant conclusion, 2 May 2014

I enjoyed the rest of the series so much I just had to read this last one and I was not disappointed. Part of me wanted to read it slowly to savor it but my curiosity got the better of me and I read it quickly through all it's twists and turns as I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. It was so descriptive without being overdone that I was able to visualise the scenes

Some parts are sad when characters that have been in the whole series are killed off but that was necessary for the plot and the development of some of the others. There were some new ones a couple of whom were really likeable.

Something I really liked was that at the end you knew what the future was going to hold for all the characters including twig, whip and the magic trees you weren't left hanging wondering.

I hope that Paulette writes another fantasy series as good as this one.

There were a few typos but it's rare not to find them nowadays

5.0 out of 5 stars very good read, 29 Mar 2014

Loved the book from start to finish.

Marina meets Koen when he falls out of the sky in his dragon form instead of running away she tries to help him. While she adores his dragon she isn't so keen on his human form when he first shifts, no surprise there she is a very small feisty female and he is a tall powerful good looking male but she doesn’t put up with his arrogance and stands her ground. There is an instant sexual magnetism and a love hate relationship and when he returns to his own realm she persuades his brothers to fly her there on their dragon forms and follows him .

The author described the dragon world enough so that you can visualise it but doesn’t over do it so you get bored reading long descriptions. The author used Daniil explaining rules and politics to Marina to illuminate them to the reader.

Marina isn't intimidated by all that she will have to go through to achieve her goal which is to have Koen. The end was a bit abrupt and my reaction was to download the second book to find out what happened.

3.0 out of 5 stars not as expected, 29 Mar 2014

Wanted to follow the relationship between Phaedra and Gabriel after enjoying the first book so much.

The book started out with a very funny scene and followed several of the characters introduced in the first book through the restrictions the government imposed on them.

But at the end of the book it didn’t seem to have moved the characters on as much as expected and after enjoying the first book so much it was disappointing won't be reading the third book.

I loved it from the first to the last page it made me smile most of the time when I was reading it.

Izzy and Bain first meet when Zander is steeling her luck it certainly wasn't love at first sight. He is extremely attractive and although Izzy sees that she insults him by thinking his fangs are a vampires which brings his arrogance fully to the surface he starts cursing and flies off leaving her with Uriah.

He is sent back to earth to protect her and she doesn't fall at his feet like the women he is used to he has to work hard all week to gain her respect. The story follows what happens when he takes her back to his world to protect her and to try to get some of her luck back

There are several interesting family characters in his world it would be interesting to learn more about.

At the end there is an epilogue which finishes the story off so your not left on a cliff edge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read, 24 Mar 2014

Read the whole book in one go as I was eager to know what was going to happen next. Although there was an instant attraction between Phaedra and Gabriel it wasn't your usual straight into sex relationship in fact there weren't the usual sex scenes you tend to get in fantasy books.

There were several twists in the story and some of the characters were pretty nasty a couple were real sadists. Gabriel comes across as a likeable man and there is more hidden inside Phaedra than there seemed to be at first and no she isn't a wolf.

The ending didn't finish on a cliff hanger as so many of these type of books do and it wasn't a short taster length but it does leaver the reader wondering where the story will go in the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting read, 23 Mar 2014

You would have thought Alyssa and her mother would have checked the town out before she moved in but then there wouldn't have been a story would there.

Several fascinating characters with all the males being extremely good looking but she falls for Kane it was obvious from the beginning he wasn’t quiet what he seemed but the author cunningly didn’t reveal it until the end . Not sure I liked him he didn't seem to have the charisma some of the others did and became possessive very quickly.

There were some interesting page turning twists and turns in the story which was an enjoyable read but overall it didn’t rouse my interest enough to be eager to read the next instalment.

3.0 out of 5 stars teenage love story, 21 Mar 2014

This review is from: Silence (Kindle Edition)
Aimed at a teenage aged audience it is an easy to put down and pick up again story.

Ashley is almost 16 and has refused to talk since she was 5 she is afraid people won't believe her. She has a hard time at school but her lifetime friend Cole a couple of years older who lives a couple of doors away is her guardian at school and it doesn’t bother him that she doesn’t talk. Most of the tale explores their relationship.

It seemed to be set in America with the Mall sweetie honey and a 17 year old driving his car to school but turned out to be set in England. Maybe the author should have done a little more research on England.

There are some clues as to why she wont talk scattered throughout the book and we do find out why at the end which I felt was rather abrupt

I enjoyed the book the husband was outwardly a wife spoiling good husband but when alone he was a monster both to his wife and his children, he really deserved what happened to him.

Only in fiction would you escape and find yourself with such a wonderful new friend and meet a man who can solve your problem the way he did.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me, 8 Mar 2014

Written in a very simplistic style the two main characters have a sense of humor the way they interact but somehow it just couldn't hold my interest and I gave up after reading 33% of it.
