1.0 out of 5 stars This is a waste of money, 21 Aug. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a waste of money. The phone arrives full of pop-up adverts and links that cannot be deleted. Some of the pop-ups are so aggressive you have to switch the phone off to close them. You get pop-ups when there are in-coming calls so you cannot answer the call.

This product is a disgrace and I could not trust Amazon again with one of their own brand products.

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of £6, 1 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Fury [DVD] [2014] (DVD)
A film that has no purpose. It is not a good old shoot-em-up war film, it is not a moral observation nor an historical representation. Overall it is pointless and boring.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a Beta product - but worth it., 1 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I gave this 4 stars because it is delivering quality that nobody else does. That said, this is a Beta product. It is so quirky and awkward to use. I have had (still use) several Walkmans (NWZ S639, NWZ A865) which had made big strides forward in usability, mainly through allowing use of Windows Media player and drag-n-drop. The price you pay for quality is that you have to use Sony's proprietary Media Go to get playlists and the playlists only work on the resident memory they don't work on the SD card. There is nothing intuitive about the functionality, you have to work to understand how to get the best from this machine and the online support pages are two steps short of useless. Build quality feels a bit flimsy, not solid like earlier Walkman, so a protective cover is a good idea, as is a Line out dock cable.
All that said, this delivers astounding quality sound ( for £400 less than the NWZ-ZX1 128GB Walkman). I use it with Sennheiser PX685i Sports headphones when Skyrunning and the clarity is beautiful, not to mention a battery that lasts over 12 hours.
This Walkman brings back aspects of your music that iPods, Smartphones etc just do not get near.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unstable and not fit for purpose., 25 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Unstable and not fit for purpose. Microsoft should not be selling this as it is less reliable than many beta release software packages! Bought a new HP PC and loaded Office 365. Straight away it crashed. Since then I have:
Run the repair programme 2 times
Re-installed 3 times
The help desk is useless as they just suggest re-installing.
There are thousands of forums on the web about this topic but most are highly technical and the others suggest re-installing.
I have gone back to my old version of Office 2007 which works fine. Annoyed to have wasted £60.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good headphones but not sports headphones, 3 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are high quality headphones, great sound and well made. But as sports headphones they are useless (unless you have a sport that involves no movement). You have to strap them to your head to stop them falling off when running. They have individual cables to each ear bud so the wire keeps snagging on everything so forget running in woodland.

1.0 out of 5 stars It is a good design, but not robust, 2 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It is a good design, but not robust. After 12 months use the side split and the pulling arm would not extend. For this amount of money I expect more than one year of use.

1.0 out of 5 stars Incompatibility with Windows 8, 3 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
They are a great idea and when they work they are truly excellent. BUT, when they work is the issue. I have gone through weeks at a time when they are not recognised by Windows so cannot recharge them or load new music. All you can do is wait for Microsoft/Sony to create new drivers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Who wrote this book?, 13 Oct. 2013
It seems like Paxman is using his brand to cash in on WW1 fever. When interviewed on TV about his book he had no idea that Lord Kitchener had died in 1916. So, who wrote this book he has lent his name to?

The Beautiful Years (The Flax of Dream)
The Beautiful Years (The Flax of Dream)
by Henry Williamson
Edition: Paperback
Price: £13.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Re-published for a good reason, 17 Sept. 2013
The Flax of Dream is one of the major literary achievements of the twentieth century. Williamson's real skills as a writer lie not in narrative but in the construction of the book's mise-en-scène; There are passages of painful intensity which stay with the reader. This tetralogy is a very beautiful read.
As regards the very silly review above, there are no fascist undertones but, yes Henry Williamson became misguided and naive in his politics (as did thousands of survivors of the Great War)however we know that 'good art' often does not stem from 'good people', so demanding a match between the two is a fool's errand, and if we did we would have no Carravagio, Oscar Wilde, Wagner etc.
