5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, 25 Oct 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I really enjoyed reading and re-reading this book:
- it reads well
- the plots of the stories and characters are very believable and highly entertaining
- it's nice expose of human weaknesses, specifically: egomania, greed and excessive risk taking, which contributed so much to the ongoing economic trouble.

5.0 out of 5 stars good movie, especially if you don't watch lot of Hollywood, 20 Jan 2008

This and Babel are two Hollywood movies I enjoyed in quite some time. I liked crisp and less emotional style obviously influenced by Walberg and the very believeable drama of DiCaprio's character.

5.0 out of 5 stars understandable Oscar's choice, 20 Jan 2008

This review is from: Babel [DVD] (DVD)
I don't understand all of Academy awards choices, but this one seem to be quite appropriate. It's got a good story, nice actors and the good ending does not seem out of place. If you like Hollywood movies, which are not like Hollywood movies, you'll enjoy this one

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, 20 Jan 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As an old (Kazakh) fan of Borat, a bit disappointed, as the book recycles materials from the movie and the series. After the latter it just doesn't seem funny. Could this be beggining of an end for Borat?

3.0 out of 5 stars the series is way better, 20 Jan 2008
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Hotel Babylon (Paperback)
Books tend to be better than movies based on them, this one is an exception though. The books lacks reasonable suspense and colourfullness of characters that series offers. OK, it's not meant to be War and Peace, but still...

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, 20 Jan 2008

Mildly entertaining, i.e take on a short flight or train commute, it won't keep you interested for much longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars good buy, 20 Jan 2008

Songs are obviously great. Together with the Blue double album, which covers later songs, the albums cover most of the songs that old fan, like me or a new admirer, ought to have.

5.0 out of 5 stars good buy, 20 Jan 2008

I only got the bag last week, but feel quite pleased with the purchase. The design seems to be quite well thought out in terms of compartments and exterior. It is not very flashy and therefore does not advertise your camera in an unwanted way, unlike cases made by camcorder producers. The bag is just right for my compact Sony '52', but others may not fit, so do check interior and exterior dimensions provided with Product Information.

4.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable game, 20 Jan 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I like the game: reasonable plot, good choice of weapons (guns, pistols, tanks, artillery) and killing the enemy does takes an effort.I'm yet to find game that I can enjoy as much as Sniper elite, but in the case of Call of Duty that may be a genre issue rather than game quality per se. It did bother me a bit that cutscenes can't be skipped, but everything else about the game compensates for this.

2.0 out of 5 stars surprised to see so many positive reviews, 20 Jan 2008
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars

I did not find anything special about this game- assignments lack challenge and plot- imagination and suspense. Call of Duty, for example, is more fun by a mile.
