This has more twists and turns than the A7 road though the borders the book starts of in a low gear then really picks up the pace. Being from the borders I was intrigued with the history the book unfolds never some of these places excited .it had a really good storyline . Also the usual Jackson fight scenes are plentiful throughout Maybe other borders towns will get a mention in the next episode . I think the borders might have discovered there on Rebus and really I look forward to the next one if you read one thriller this year make it this one

Just read this novel by Douglas Jackson who is climbling my Fav writers chart very fast having read the first two book in this collection the second quite some time ago . I pick this up a felt i had read it the day before as i could pick up the story straight away .Once again the writer takes us back to the day the battle scenes are gut wrenching with the description to detail, and you can imagine the noise and the gore .The strory has loads of surprises thrown in to keep the reader wanting to read more and more,it is one of those books that was very hard to put down i would certainley recomend this one but also would say you should the read the first two in sequence

this book has everything intrigue, excitment, lots of action and a little gore thrown in just enough to keep it realistic, good details, and grt characters, the author takes the reader on a grt journey and very unexpected conclusion the more i read the more i became engrossed and before i finished i thought i was Jamie Saintclair as i felt everybump he felt ,was like being at the movies cheering on the good guys and hissing at the bad guys looking forward to Jamies next adventure . This has adventure movie written all over it . I would recomened you to read it only problem is time as you will not want to put it down

It was the ist time i had read a historical novel so i was a bit worried to start but was hooked on this book by the time i had finished the prologue .Reading the book i felt transferred to ancient Rome the author,s description of the buildings the smells and the poeple were amazing .Also the fight scenes were bloody with nothing taken away from the detail the book left me the reader looking forward to see what happens to Rufus and of course his elephant
