5.0 out of 5 stars The Voice And More, 21 Oct. 2013
This review is from: The Message (MP3 Download)
Andrea's debut album will not disappoint those who watched her soar to the top of The Voice UK earlier in the year. This album features a beautiful selection of covers as well as a few of Andrea's own self-penned songs (one, The Message being produced by her TV mentor Danny O'Donoghue).

This album showcases her vocal talents that won her the contest in June this year and is a must buy. Highlights include her haunting cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart and The Message, which is just waiting to be a radio hit.

Andrea's definitely proved herself with this album and it's a testament to her versatility as a singer, with hints of jazz, folk, country and pop peppered throughout the CD. If you're looking for an album that wont offend but keep you hooked at the same time, this is it.

Andrea's cover of Joan Osborne's nineties smash is enchanting, haunting and a real showcase of her vocal abilities. She doesn't need to tackle the vocal acrobatics like some other fellow Voice contestants. Andrea really makes this song her own and I've had it on repeat since downloading. Her debut album can't come quick enough.

I'd been waiting with baited breath for Kate's debut offering for quite a while, it's been a long time coming and I've fallen for many of her covers and originals on Youtube where she is pretty much royalty so when Replaced was released I grabbed it with both hands and ran.

Unlike many top-selling artists Kate has not decorated the album with pointless fillers and songs that just don't strike a chord - every song on this collection deserves its place and manages to stand out on its own AND blend beautifully with the rest of the track-listing.

Kate should be very proud of herself and the album, every song is sung to perfection and each one a lyrical gem, there really is nowhere to find fault. Roll on album number two, it's bound to be another treasure.

This definitely isn't the last we'll hear from Miss McGill
