4.0 out of 5 stars Their best yet...?, 3 Dec 2011
This review is from: From Here To Anywhere (Audio CD)
Maybe quite a claim due to the awards the first album won, but its as if they have taken all the best elements and formulated them here to create what truly is their sound. Definately a grower not an immediate show-er but after a couple of listens, like with the other 2 albums, you'll be hooked and singing along quite happily :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Its all about CD 2, 4 Mar 2008
This review is from: Chillout Sessions 10 (Audio CD)
What a cd! Im only not giving it 5 stars because CD1 is a bit of a let down incomparison to CD2 - but maybe Im being harsh with CD2 being one of the best cds I maybe have ever heard... A big claim indeed, and I usually steer clear of the MOS sort of big brand stuff - but I heard it playing when in a cd shop in Sydney and haven't stopped since.. A real and rare journey, that holds your attention throughout...just dont be put off by the Ministry of Sound badge..

1.0 out of 5 stars The second cd I have ever taken back.., 15 Aug 2006
This review is from: Inside In/Inside Out (Audio CD)
Apologies but I seem to be missing something here.

Indeed the two tracks that have been released in the charts are very good but the rest didnt remotely grab me at all. I bought the cd, along with others, for friends who now live abroad and after 'checking the goods' I actually took it back to the shop. There seemed no feeling, no soul and seemingly with a 'cool' name like The Kooks and being from once-trendy Brighton, the record company pr team have worked where credit is due (the pr team that is)..

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally something to write about...., 21 Dec 2004

Step aside Travis/Coldplay/Keane melancholists. Step aside with your flat tones and Dido-esque lack of inspiration or feeling (heard nowhere more than on the new Band Aid single)
Killers, despite being American, seem to echo bands such as Shed Seven and Franz Ferdinand: far from fellow Vegas rockers ZZ Topp. With well thought riffs and as on 'Somebody told me' an almost Joy Division sound at times: please, please buy this album. You wont be disappointed...

4.0 out of 5 stars Just let it play...., 17 Aug 2004

Picked this up in Miami back in March and found it initially a bit quick being a deep(er) house fan.. Luckily I however have CDJ 1000's so slowed it down to 128/129 bpm and it is charging!! If you're not a fan of the 132bpm slightly quicker stuff: buy this, slow it down on your computer or cd player and groove along. The first tune (Benny Benassi remix of Tomcraft's 'Loneliness') just has Sunday at Space written all over it...........You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you dont like it I'll refund your money.., 3 Jun 2004
This review is from: Latitude 40 Degrees (Audio CD)
A friend of mine bought me this from New York and I wasnt disappointed. Even to the extent he has now also gone out and bought it for himself. Its much better than the 'Sundance' orange covered cd also out by Matar: but if you like Soulfuric Sessions, you'll LOVE this.
Good for getting ready to, driving on clubbing missions, for when you get back, WHENEVER.
As the title says: if you dont like I'll refund you myself, but you'd have to be mad not to...
