5.0 out of 5 stars Aw, what the hell, I don't got that long a lifespan anyway..., 25 Aug 2014
This was freecking amazing. I had been seeing lots of great comments about this film on social media and thought what the heck, lets go to the cinema. A place I've not been to since being hugely disappointed by Prometheus. But this film is everything cinema and movies are made for. Fun, exciting, great CGI, great characters, in fact, one of the best characters in a long long time (Rocket) and most importantly, characters you connect with. No amount of CGI can do that, is has to come from the script and film making itself.

One of the best movies I've seen in a long long time and can't wait for the DVD to come out so I can watch it again, and please please make a sequel, please, with the same writers, editors, director etc etc this is one sequel that might just work :)

5.0 out of 5 stars What are the critics watching, 16 Jan 2014
This review is from: The Lone Ranger [DVD] (DVD)
This was absolutely fantastic. I just can't understand all the negative publicity this got when it was at the cinema. That put me off and it's a real shame as it was genius, hilarious and totally entertaining. Sometimes I think it's best to ignore these arrogant critics and see it for yourself. I'm now kicking myself for not seeing it at the cinema. Totally loved this highly recommend :)

This review is from: Secondhand Rapture (Audio CD)
Doing my usual browse trying to find some new tunes when i stumbled upon this. A quick listen on Amazon and Youtube and I bought the whole album and haven't stopped listening to it. It is dark and utterly beautiful and i don't understand why I haven't heard of them before. Dark Doo Wop is simply stunning. If you're a fan of the darker side of pop then this will not disappoint. Can't wait to hear more from them :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 11 April 2013

This is brilliant fun, really does look like a lens I even almost put it in my camera back :? But be careful if you're going to have a hot cup of tea or coffee in it, the mug gets extremely hot itself that is the only downside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic second season, 16 Mar 2013
Only just started watching Walking Dead and after the first season I went straight out and bought the second, and it just gets better. There are twists and turns and things happening you really thought wouldn't. Edge of your seat stuff, the actors are top draw and play all their individual roles to perfection. I've just watched the whole of the second season in three evening, thats 13 episodes, and now I have to wait for season 3 to come out on dvd booo. The only other series that has been this enjoyable for me is Game of Thrones. If you've never seen it, or have the firt and worry that the second series won't match up, then don't worry it certainly does in abundance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Little gem, 31 Jan 2013

This is a great little book with some rather surprising famous people in it. Basically a collection of fun images taken on nights out. Not many people properly document this type of life. The images are quite 'in your face' with his use of flash photography and could of maybe been a bit more creative but what you're left with is a quirky set if images that are great to flick through.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not art, 31 Jan 2013

This review is from: Shaven Sex Love (Hardcover)
Have to say but I wasn't impressed by this purchase. Not sure what I was expecting but this wasn't it. It really is basically porn turned black and white. Making something monochrome doesn't turn it into art I'm afraid. Books well made but hey who cares its the images we want and this one doesn't deliver. Rather disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars What a wasted opportunity, 29 Oct 2012
This review is from: Red Tails [DVD] (DVD)
Really looked forward to this, massive war film fan and an aviation photographer so bingo :) but this started bad and just didn't get any better. The dialogue is staged and false and soooo pretentious is just makes you feel sick watching it. The battle scenes are good but nothing compared to other films, take Flags of out fathers, there are some cracking arial scenes in that which make you feel as if you're there flying the plane. Even Memphis Belle made in 1991 was more realistic. There is way too much laughing and joking about for a war film, even if these guys were that chilled it just doesn't ring true. I think the director needs to stop worrying about special effects and start worrying about the script. This is historically and great story that needs to be told and shared, but this is a missed opportunity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 28 Oct 2012

I've been waiting for a book of this quality for years. Perfect large size, can't stand some of these pocket size photo books, what's the point I want to 'SEE THE PICTURES' and with this you do. There are over 400 pages of images and all are excellent covering a wide range within this genre. As well as the photos there is a little bio on each photographer, who they are, why they shoot and what they use. Brilliant.
