3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad!, 28 Jun 2014

This review is from: 12 CREPE PAPER FOLDS F60 (Toy)
The paper itself is okay and is vibrant but don't expect to get the colours advertised. If you are after something that is pot-luck, then it is fine and it comes well packaged and on the day you expect it to arrive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous film, 28 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great film of someone who had it all, then lost it and really hit rock bottom that she is in the midst of a breakdown, but also trying to re-invent herself. The performances of all of the actors and actresses are of the highest quality. A sequel would be interesting to see if Jasmine ever goes into therapy and starts to climb back up the ladder of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Political Satire at it's Best., 3 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Yes Minister is very funny, even now. The characters are so well acted out, and it still has some relevance today as economies are still being debated about, politicians are still wanting the limelight and wanting their time on the tv to go well. The first episode in this series is about Jim Hacker (played by Paul Eddington) trying to get an Equal Opportunities Bill through parliament after being persuaded by his wife, Annie, as a school girl doing some research asks him what has he achieved and most of it turns out to be all the perks. Now think about it, today our politicians are still in debates about equal opportunities as they enjoy all the benefits whilst the Sir Humphrey Appleby's are saying about "The unions won't wear it." and giving long explanations for why something shouldn't be done if It doesn't suit the Permanent Secretary. Nigel Hawthorn who plays Humphrey Appleby is so clever and so humorous and Derek Fowlds playing Bernard, the secretary is also very witty. All the cast in fact are very strong with great storyiines. I actually recommend all 3 series. With this one you also get a Christmas special on the second disc.

This wears very nicely as it is well cut and very comfortable. Add some jewellery to dress it up even further and does very well for that day/night out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent pliers, 3 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are pretty decent pliers, which are good for when making earrings, although they can be hard work to use when bending wire at times to make small shapes, compared to an ordinary pair of pliers, which feel stronger, but unfortunately to big to do the job of jewellery making.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sophisticated fashion, 3 Jun 2013

This is a beautifully designed and sophisticated garment. The peplum frill is a good one as it flows very nicely. The body of the top is lined, making it well worth the price and feels like you're wearing something special. The material is very comfortable to wear as it is soft on the skin..

5.0 out of 5 stars Friends and Crocodiles, 17 Nov 2012
This review is from: Friends And Crocodiles [DVD] (DVD)
Stephen Poliokoff is a great director and this is a great drama. It is cleverly and intellegently written. Even the title is clever. It shows the rise and the downfall with all the emotion very well. It has got good insight and draws you into this busy high life of his main character's world as well as his downfall. Every actor acts his/her part to a high standard. This is the first of Stephen Poliokoff's films I'd seen and I was so glad that I did not overlook it. I have now seen others of his and thoroughly recommend them.

Gladys Reunited: A Personal American Journey
Gladys Reunited: A Personal American Journey
by Sandi Toksvig
Edition: Paperback
Price: £8.84

5.0 out of 5 stars A travel log with a difference, 7 April 2012
This is such a refreshing book. The Gladys Society is an autobiography by Sandi Toksvig with a difference. It is also a travel log describing all the places in the USA where she goes to in order to track down her friends who, with Sandi, used to call themselves the Gladys Society (you have to read the book as to why). It is fascinating as it gives an insight into Sandi's character, some of her likes and dislikes, and also her time in the USA. So it delves into the personal and the country itself. What - and this is the great part about it - it does not do is give the old "sob story" so many autobiographies end up doing. There is some sadness, but there is also joy and Sandi has a way of really taking her readers with her on this journey with her. Anyone who likes and cares about Sandi Toksvig will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bright Young Things, 7 April 2012
Bright Young Things they certainly are, as the title suggests. Set in the roaring 20s this film follows the highs and lows of the set called Bright Young Things as they try to live it up in London going for more and more daring costumes and high jinx. I love this lavish period piece. It gives a real flavour of what the bright young things set of people got up to in their hey-day. It also gives an idea of what began to happen to them afterwards as times were at the cusp of changing. It all has lots of pace and great acting. Stephen Fry also did an excellent job to have this film based on Evelyn Waugh's Vile Bodies produced. Even though in each scene there is a lot going on and looks frantic, it is seemless and flows very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little book packed full of feelings, 7 April 2012

This review is from: I Have Feelings! (Paperback)
"I Have Feelings" is a book that has just about every feeling possible. It follows a mouse who on each page describes what he is doing and most importantly how he is feeling in bright dynamic illustrations. I used this book for a class of 5-6 year olds and it is definitely age appropriate. It is easy for them to follow under the guidance of a teacher (parents would also find this book easy to use with their children). It is a great resource to use to start discussions about all the different emotions everyone has. My class were very enthusiastic about this and really got involved thinking about what makes them feel emotions such as excitement, jealousy, happiness, sadness etc. This is an excellent book to get children to begin to gain knowledge about their own emotions and to understand that everyone has emotions and feels different ones at different stages in their lives.
