Excellent trousers but a little on the sung side. I presume that the snug fit is due to the lining which certainly keeps you warm on cold days. Ideal for outdoor work or sitting indoors with the heating off.
I would recommend that you order one size larger.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crossing the thin line from fantasy to reality., 9 Nov 2014
This review is from: The Frozen Ground [DVD] (DVD)
A good movie which once more bought home the revulsion that serial killers engender within me.
The script is based on a true life occasion which explains a perverse killing spree of young women which happened in Anchorage Alaska. Sadly the story indicates that even within a civilised western society there exists people who do not hold life as a precious miracle. Furthermore, the movie touches on the reality that many men do not really respect women or love their being. Part of the movie is shot in lap-dancing establishments where women have no more value than a few dollars to get their kit off. As a hot-blooded male I cannot understand the reasons for such establishments. This movie bought home an understanding that many men live out their fantasies away from their home rather than celebrate and cherish their own marriage. In this movie the progression from fantasy appears to lead to psychopathic actions. One explanation provided by the killer to his inquisitors explained that he sought the company of prostitutes to engage in actions which he did not wish his wife to perform. He presumed that he did not wish his wife to engage in oral sex. I found this extremely disrespectful not only to his wife but that men consider such actions as being un-natural therefore confined to human beings they seek out specifically for such purposes, and it is this ground on which the script is built. Perhaps ready access to pornography is enough to take some males over the line of demarcation to the point of no return. For my part I was left wondering why any man would consider their wife to be any different from any other women.
The tale is well told and acted perfectly. The location scenes are too few but what there are indicate a beautiful wilderness. The direction is well paced and unfolds easily as my mind raced thinking about the madness that such a situation could ever have existed in the first place – the reason being that Alaskan society holds a different value on the lives of women of easy virtue, being on a lower register than what it considers ‘good’ women. I found this thread ran strongly through the movie without it being a tub-thumping.
I would have liked some explanation within the movie which attempted to try and place why men commit such heinous crimes or at least what triggers their actions.

Per chance I had just finished reading about the subject of art stolen in WW2 when I came across this movie. During my childhood I was regaled by my father’s older brother who went into the army as a sergeant and came out a sergeant. My grandfather was a celebrated artist and we all grew up understanding classic works of art and their distinction.
So, I should have known better when buying this DVD that I should have read the cast list first. Every one of the actors produces a stinker of a performance. Really, George Clooney as an art historian. His whole demeanour is bereft of emotional drive which brings the subject of art to the public.
Matt Daemon is equally terrible as are all the other supporting cast members.
My uncle went through the war – across North Africa and then to Sicily and up through Italy. During his military career (he was conscripted) he was demoted and promoted regularly as he kept getting lost on purpose to visit art treasure or in the hope of finding that it had not been stolen. His concept of fighting was womanising, drinking and looking for every aspect of art: Paintings, sculpture and architecture. My uncle had a good war and did not want to come home from Italy after victory in Europe. When I compare his anecdotes remembered from 25 years ago with the content of this movie rubbish I can only believe that the people in Hollywood have more money than sense.
In brief; the film lacks passion and dedication to how true art lovers behave when confronted with the possibility to view art or their quest to find it.
Contradictory, I like most of the actors in the film. Clooney has acted well in some movies I have watched. Specifically, when he is more or less the solo lead. All in all this is a mish-mash of a film set between Kelly’s Heroes and Ocean’s whatever. It is boring, slow and lacks everything that defines art treasures and how they must be protected. The movie is badly directed and the editing excruciatingly poor. Aside from the movie, I believe that everyone holds art within their being in one form or another. Viewing and understanding great works of art has great importance to our evolution and this movie failed to recognise how such heritage can be used to make our time on Planet Earth so much better.

This is a very brave movie. The story tells a tale about a man broken through an emotional experience. All that follows is his quest for self-redemption. Having personally experienced exactly the same I could relate to everything he feels and the actions he takes. The storyline in parts may seem disjointed but the direction obviously meant that as it embodies the distress experience by a broken soul. To make this movie was brave and I applaud those who financed the movie and produced it. The lead actor I have not seen before. That made the movie even more plausible for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful music - variations on a theme., 26 Sep 2014
Very good film score. However, this album has a poor track running order and 'light' performance. This is a tragedy as the music is in my opinion wonderful in its structure and tempo. It is one of most emotional pieces of music I have listened to in conjunction with the film series.
