5.0 out of 5 stars OMG!!, 13 Jun. 2013
This review is from: Time (Audio CD)
Let me begin by saying I am a fan of the `old' Rod Stewart - circa 1968 - 1977 and believe the 80's- noughties was a bit of a lost period. I beleive his disco experience through to his schmoozing American song book time was financially profitable but artistically redundant IMHO. This album (album?) represents a true return to form for me and could be his finest work. In his heyday Rod had arguably one of the finest voices in rock and although his vocal prowess is diminished he still has the ability to excel. The album has some great songs on it and it is a very autobiographical work - its actually worth picking up his autobiography `Rod' (which is now out in paperback on Amazon for under £4) as it explains the circumstances behind many of the songs - its also a great read! Sadly (and I hope I'm wrong) having read the book and listened to the CD I fear Rod may be calling `Time' on his career? I believe he has `squared his circle' and his life is now fulfilled hence could this be Rod's swan song. Either way, it's a great CD.

My old i-pod was getting a bit tired so I was looking to get another MP3 player. My default was going to be Apple but I thought I'd have a lokk at what else is out there. Came across this little beauty! Invested in the micro SD card increasing memory. I've got to say the sound quality and ease of transferring music is fantastic. I actually like iTunes and was worried how this would work but its absolutely simple. The bud head phones are perfectly useable but as with the i-pod you may want to upgrade. A fantastic product!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Limbo Land, 21 Dec. 2012
I must agree with the first reviewer. If this had been released in mid December I am confident it would have captured the Christmas Gift market. Releasing it in the 'no mans land' of post Christmas Sales is an act of amazing stupidity. A season review in the following year as the new season approaches is just a crass missed opportunity. Give it about 8 weeks from release and as March approaches and the 2013 season is on the horizon - pick this up for £4.99!!

1.0 out of 5 stars ultimately dull, 24 Nov. 2012
Now that Jake is hooking up to a different gravy train I expected some form of honest appraisal of the BBC coverage of F1, the shambolic way the move to Sky was handled and how he inter acts with co commentators past and presesent. But no, this is just a run of the mill look at the world F1 that has been done so many times (& better!) in the past. This was a golden opportunity as I am convinced he had to bite his tongue over many issues - even his thoughts around Martin Brundle splitting the 4 musketeers. Pedestrian.....

1.0 out of 5 stars Ultimately Extremely Dull!, 25 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Wolf Hall (Paperback)
A work of beautifully crafted literature. Unfortunatelty after 300 pages I had to give up as it was just dull! Robert Bolt in his preface to the 1970 edition of 'A Man For All Seasons' told the tale in eight (8) pages! Nick Hornby gave good advice on trying to battle your way through something 'important' in the literary world. Life is too short - if you aren't enjoying it, stop, try something else, there is always a better book on the way!

Just got back from the VUE cinema presentation. A fantastic production. The band are clearly having a ball and its quite clear that if they wished (or if Percy wished) they could have toured successfully and finally buried Live Aid! however, as its not to be this is the next best thing. As with the LZ 'DVD' bootleg footage has been cleverly interspersed with official HD recording and the use of the backdrop. FANTASTIC!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Time Waits For No One, 17 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Lets begin with the actual product. The Blu Ray was excellent, the picture clean and sharp with a fantastic sound to it all. Yes the added tracks are a little cheesy but if they had filmed them I presume they would have been on the disc? As a massive Supertramp fan I would recommend purchase without hesitation. Now the politics! I believe Roger to be a very spiritual person yet he appears not to be able to let the past go. We, the fans, who allow him his comfortable existence, know who wrote what, and when! As others have commented, if Roger had his way everything Supertramp would be pulled from the market place - and no way would this ever be released. The very fact he was initially approached for his input suggests to me that he placed such high demands that would be impossible to meet they decided to go ahead regardless. If this was not the case why approach him at all? Roger has a very busy Face book page. Rather than his comments about lack of consultation could he elaborate on what is missing? What would he have added to this release? We are all getting older and life is so short. As you sang Roger, Time Waits For No One.................
