3.0 out of 5 stars Cracked after a month of use, 4 Dec. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A neat little case and easy to fit - although mine cracked on the back after just over a month of use, and I hadn't done anything particularly violent with it! I have now switched to a softer, black case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uncompromising Christmas Track, 3 Dec. 2009
This review is from: Christmas (Audio CD)
It doesn't often snow at Christmas has been a limited availability (originally part of the Christmas 1997 fan club mailing) track for a while, which also appeared on the Elton John Christmas album, so in all likelihood you will have already heard it, possibly as I did one year, in Ikea.
It sounds like how you hope a Pet Shop Boys Christmas song would sound.

Upstaged: Making Theatre in a Media Age
Upstaged: Making Theatre in a Media Age
by Anne Nicholson Weber
Edition: Paperback
Price: £20.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating, 3 Nov. 2009
This book is a collection of interviews with leading playwrights, directors, producers, critics, and actors and gives a fantastic insight into what makes theatre work in the 2000's. Weber's interviews touch upon issues of audience expectation and response, creative integrity and the interplay between film and television and theatre.

Worth buying for the fantastic interview with Tony Kushner at the end of the book alone, in which he discusses the transtition from stage to screen of Angels in America.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty in Pink, 1 Nov. 2009
I hunted down the pink version of the NC10, I'm not usually so girly, it was simply the most attractive shade of the model.

The NC10 has a good battery life, clear screen and smooth operating system. It it good for all internet related activities, including uploading photos and vidoes. It does struggle a little with on demand tv downloads (pictures more than audio).

I bought it as a means of having internet on the go and a method for writing/reading when I am travelling and combined with mobile broadband or wi-fi it does the job. At hme I have a large PC and monitor and you must, when buying a netbook, bear in mind that the two are very different items for different purposes - don't expect PC/laptop capability from a netbook! That said, you will be pleased with the capability.

The NC10 fits easily into a handbag and comes with a basic travel sleeve.

I have just purchased a travel mouse for the NC10 - the pad can be a bit tricky when you are using mobile broadband with a low signal strength, or moving between tabs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unpretentious, 11 April 2009

This is a great book if you are interested in grammar. If you need to know about grammar but find all the other books on the subject stuffy then this is the one to buy. The lighthearted approach makes you realise that grammar is there to help you convey your written points clearly, leaving no room for confusion to arise. It's a lovely book too, the cover is very tactile! One minor issue is that there isn't an index at the back which would have been mighty useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes etc, 21 Mar. 2009
This review is from: Yes, etc (Audio CD)
This is an amazing album and goes far beyond the term 'a return to form'. Fundamental - the last Pet Shop Boys release - was a great album, but Yes excels in so many ways and conveys what the essence of Pet Shop Boys really is. It's a truly affecting and varied album. The bonus cd 'etc' is stunning in itself and you really must buy the special edition rather than settling for just Yes.

For years I've been told you can't maintain a narrative stance like this within anything longer than a short story. You can! Hahaaaa!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great present for adults, 4 Feb. 2007
This review is from: Tim the Tiny Horse (Hardcover)
I came across this book quite by accident and can't believe it hasn't been more heavily marketed. Each story has a moral at the end of it, the illustrations are brilliant and all in all it is just hillarious. It is the sort of book an adult or a child could read - typical Harry Hill crossover humour - and although children might not get all of the jokes, they will understand the stories behind them. Brilliant!
