Dreadful, Dire & Disappointing, 10 Jan 2014
My criticism of this poor attempt at producing a classic children's annual boils down to the following:
(1)Cheapness - not the excessive price but the overall appearance & dreadful quality of paper which at least one other reviewer has referred to.
(2)Lack of originality. Apart from the cover and one story it is all repeats. If the qnnual is going to have old stories, it should be sold at the old price and the annual should have a sticker on the front stating that it is a reproduction of previous tales.
(3)Lack of uniformity. The stories are by different artists. They vary so much that the book may as well have stories about Paddington, Winnie the Pooh and Superted, rather than trying to make the artists draw the same character - and failing lamentably.
