5.0 out of 5 stars Best price for a nice pack!, 18 Feb. 2015

Nice and fun movies for a great price. Better buy this US import as the UK versions costs twice if you buy them here separately. Also the US version comes with a beautiful slip-case.

The Promise: Birth Of The Messiah, The Animated Christmas Musical
The Promise: Birth Of The Messiah, The Animated Christmas Musical
Dvd ~ Clara Scott

5.0 out of 5 stars The Promise Kept!!!, 18 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Beautiful animation and very catchy musical score. Did not deviate at all from the scripture and the message is perfectly delivered. watched it almost 5 times in a week. Highly recommended!!! An oh beware of the available 2 versions. The cover picture with only Joseph and Mary is the first version and the one with Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth, Zechariah and the Priest is the latest HD version. They released the first version in a hurry before Christmas and it is sort of unfinished with many details missing and the HD version is released after Christmas in Jan 2015 which is the finished product. Better choose the HD version for the same price. Contact the seller before buying and if you miss this, you will regret.

One of the best productions about love, family and faith. Can't get better deal than this for such a beautiful collection. Cheaper than US release. This is a 10 dvd version. Beware of another 6 dvd version which has the same slip-case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good story and Great 3D!!!, 17 Feb. 2015
Hesitated to buy this in 3D for a long time after watching reviews in sites like bluray dot com but would have regretted if I had missed this 3D experience. One of thle best 3D blurays out there. And I own almost all of the 3D animated releases and this one is far better than the Disney's recently converted 3D releases as Ratatouille, Cars and Monsters Inc. The animation is beautiful and the story is good. The bluray conversion is great. Watched before in 2D and I can't imagine watching this again in 2D. Highly recommended to all the animation and 3D enthusiasts!!! Please support small studios like this and encourage them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let God lead you in His way, 5 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well, the movie is very well made with funny moments. The movie is all about ""What If" God gives you a second chance to correct the mistakes you made in your life plans?"".The message is clearly delivered. In one sentence "Let God have His way and plans for your life and just follow Him, rather than following your own path".

5.0 out of 5 stars Very well made, 5 Nov. 2013

I was hesitating to watch this for a long time as most of the film makers misuse the creative license while making the spiritual and faith based movies. But I am glad that the director of this movie used the license very effectively without deviating from the true biblical account and the message is very well picturised. Highly recommended to those who are looking for a true faith based biblical movie without any unnecessary additions and distractions. This movie is added to my biblical movie collection and I advise you to consider few of these epic movies in blu-ray as "Jesus of Nazareth", "The Ten Commandments", "Ben-Hur", "The Robe", "Quo Vadis", "The Passion of Christ", "The Bible:In the beginning".

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Movie...Incredible 3D!!!, 5 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Hi all 3D enthusiasts! I am not reviewing the movie again as you all know by now how good the movie is. So I just come to the point. The 3D is very well done and the depth is incredible as in all Disney/Pixar movies. And though this movie was originally not released as a 3D production, it seems like they had 3D in mind. Cross talk is not seen anywhere even in the most flashy scenes with car lights and neon lights. The 3D depth is very pleasant and entertaining especially in the scene where McQueen takes a ride with Sally up to a hill. That's said. I am glad that I did not own a 2D bluray before as this comes with 2 discs (One for 3D and one for 2D with special features). Even if you own a 2D version, I strongly recommend to consider this, as the 3D experience pushes the entertainment to a next level. Don't hesitate to buy if you are a 3D lover...Highly recommended!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not 100% accurate, But...!!!, 6 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well I've seen all the 10 episodes (Each TV aired episode is divided into two 45 min. episodes on Dvd). I had very high expectations on this series as movie making is technically well developed with Computer Graphics and The Bible has the potential to make it visually stunning. It reached my expectations in some cases and not in few. Well we have to keep one thing in mind that thousands of years and generations may not be covered in a mini 7.5 hrs series & it is impossible (They should have stuck to only New Testament). So they had to skip many major portions (Not to mention, few of them are very important). But I won't complain about that because it needs a lots and lots of time, money and effort. But my complaint is that in whatever they showed, they should have tried to be accurate & skipped some unnecessary extra content as Ninja-Angels fighting in Sodom destruction, Young Moses fighting with pharaoh and many Roman violent scenes in New testament times. Bible has got a lot of destruction and wars. So it's not wrong to show these, but better to stick to the biblical wars and violence as Saul's and David's wars.
To mention few things, because of time constraint, they should have skipped few of these scenes and should have concentrated on narrating some important things in background and show few things as the pillar of fire protecting the Israel from Egyptian army while passing the Red Sea, pillar of cloud guiding them in wilderness. Also Abraham takes Issac to Mt. Moriah, which is 3 days journey from their camp (Genesis 22:4), but not just beside their camp. So without shooting the whole journey they should have skipped the scene of Sarah running after them (as it is not in Bible & also it is impossible to reach them as they are way ahead in their 3 day journey, they should have narrated it). It gives a better scope to see God as helper than not just judge.
Also while watching the Old Testament and it's violence, I was expecting that there will be no such scope in New Testament after Jesus comes (Prince of Peace) & So I thought they will show a great difference from violence to Peace. But to my surprise, they used the Roman rule to their advantage and made an action movie with New Testament as well. I'm not against to depict violence in Bible, but they should have stuck to the Bible violence as beheading John the Baptist and slaughter of children by Herod but Not Herod killing one of the two Jews with knife. I liked final two episodes on crucifixion and speaking in tongues in time of Pentecost and Paul's journey (Jesus hugging the cross and kissing it when he first sees it made me cry because that's how I imagined them as Jesus came for that very purpose). They tried to show from crucifixion to Revelation in just 40 minutes (Revelation is just under 3 minutes), which is impossible , but managed to show the important tings which stayed almost accurate to scripture. I was looking forward to see Jesus episodes but have seen more action than peace & teachings, but liked last episodes.
Well I'm not here to criticize, but want to advice one thing to all who are satisfied and not satisfied with this series, that you should use these videos only as a companion to explain and understand The Bible visually & do not expect it to be whole Bible. No one on this Earth can show complete Bible visually and can learn the things in Bible through watching movies or videos. The only way through which we can understand scriptures is by reading scriptures only and praying God to give us the revelation to understand them. Let us be happy that in this generation where everything is getting wicked, some people are still trying to show something which is not related to Sex or Drugs. Please encourage them for their effort and if you liked something in this series use them as companions to describe the scripture and ignore and skip the scenes which are not Biblical or offending. Well despite of inaccuracies (example King Darius sends Daniel into Lions' Den, but NOT King Cyrus as shown), I liked many of the aspects in this series and it sure deserves my Recommendation (Graphics worked well in scenes like Bible Intro with Noah, Sodom & Gomorrah destruction, Burning Bush, Ten Plagues, Parting Red sea, Jericho's wall destruction, The Lord in the fire with 3 men & City of Jerusalem..to name few) & I hope in future, they may keep one thing in mind that accuracy is very important !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars UNLESS you care for 3D, you won't try this!!! & I Speak for 3D!!!, 25 Nov. 2012
Yes, the 3D is really amazing in this movie. I really loved the story. I don't care what others say about this movie, as I didn't read the book and when I saw the movie, the message was clearly conveyed to me. I hoped the 3D experience would be good as with all the animated movies. But the 3D experience is Great!!! The 3D depth is too incredible and there are many pop-out moments throughout the movie. Also the whole movie has vibrant colors. The pack comes with 3 discs (3D, 2D & DVD) and an Ultraviolet copy. Those who love animated movies and 3D should try this, or you will regret for missing this. Highly Recommended!!!
