5.0 out of 5 stars Musical highlight of Spring Harvest 2014, 9 May 2014

This was my favourite worship song from Spring Harvest 2014 - a reflective and prayerful song that is incredibly moving and well suited for use in any worship group, regardless of size or age. The use of brass to evoke the sense of a colliery band in a community enhances the warmth and emotional impact of the song, which has a beautiful simplicity to it - the tune and words were going around in my head after the event and still are now!

This is my favourite Dolly Parton song from the last ten years - an expression of her faith with wonderful lyrics ("I was gonna be rich, no matter how much it cost, and I was gonna win, no matter how much I lost") and a driving, upbeat rhythm. Country music at its best.

This is one of my favourite Roger Jones musicals, telling the Biblical story of the Israelites and their exodus from Egypt through many lively and memorable songs which really bring the scriptures to life. Every Christian music collection should contain it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational, easy to understand book telling true stories of faith, 5 Jun. 2013

This is an inspiring collection of real life stories where people's faith has been strengthened despite difficult or tragic circumstances. A great read for anybody at any point of the Christian journey - John Sentamu has added his own reflections in relation to each story, in his clear and warm style. The book is written in an easy to understand way, without lots of deep theological language that may alienate some readers. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating insight into a local character's varied careers, 19 April 2013

I bought this book as part of my father's birthday present as he is interested in local history and autobiographies - he found it to be well written and would recommend it to anybody with similar interests. The author, Joe David, recalls time spent in the army, as a gunsmith, Yeoman of the Guard at the Tower of London and town crier to name just four of his career paths. The book is written in an amusing and informative style, with plenty of character.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect gift for any music loving foodie!, 19 Mar. 2013

This impressively weighty coffee table book is packed with glossy photographs and recipes contributed by a wide range of music artists (including Noel Gallagher, Paloma Faith, Example and Rolf Harris). Some of the proceeds are being donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust, another good reason to buy the book. An informative and amusing read, I would recommend it to people who love cooking and music.
