The British [DVD]
The British [DVD]

4.0 out of 5 stars Epic, 31 Dec 2013
This review is from: The British [DVD] (DVD)
This is an epic viewpoint with a sweeping Hollywood style, although like many people have said it is not an in depth view of British history in bitesized pieces with pop up comments about how certain events have shaped the British character.

It's very warm hearted and puts an overwhelming positive spin on British history rather than the defeats and does give you a patriotic swell in your chest,

If you want an in depth look about his tout this is mor for you if you want mind blowing graphics, intense storytelling and a feel good factor (despite some of its gore) this is for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful but very light on details, 18 Dec 2012

This is a beautiful book however for hard core fans there isnt any new information and the information that is available is light at best. I would call this an overview rather then an in depth study of Buffy and the mythos. It is a good book to look at and refreash yourself but that is it. I had hoped that this would be a definitive volume but it is not.

4.0 out of 5 stars The shine is coming off, 7 Jan 2011
This review is from: LA Ink Series Three [DVD] (DVD)
I fell in love with this show for the engaging characters and the beautiful tattoos but this season was all about the drama and everyone looked bad. This may be due to the cutting of the episodes to create the drama but it really made everyone look like high schoolers whispering behind each other's back and some of the comments people were made were genuinely cruel.

Thank goodness the stories of the tattoos were just as good as they have always been because otherwise this season was a let down.

I respect Kat Von D enormously with everything she has achieved but unlike the previous seasons were you felt the love and passion and joy of tattooing and the family, in this season it was clique and exclusive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Princess Leia faces her demons, 9 Jun 2009
A strong plot that analyzes one of the most poignant parts of star wars-Princess Leia and the survivors of Aldeeran. The book is set both in the OT and in Leia's childhood, revealing Leia's childhood and hidden Jedi talents and her mysterious protector.

Although aimed for children this book deals with heavy issues which is does very well. The book analyzes how Leia's actions and the actions of Bail Organa affected Aldeeran and it's people. Worth a read if you have an interest in Princess Leia

5.0 out of 5 stars Serenity, 11 April 2006
This review is from: Serenity [DVD] [2005] (DVD)
A really well thought out and briliantly acted peice. I was delighted when I heard one of my favourite television shows was being made into a film and this does not disopoint.
Picking up strands from the tv show but still standing alone for those who haven't seen the show, Serenity's bleak and dark picture of what has become of Malcolm Reynold's life is gripping and edgy. You get sucked into these wonderful characters and you feel the danger and the pressure that they are under.
This is well worth watching and buying and rewatching over and over again because it never stops being funny and dramtic and dark.

This book is really well written, it shows the differences between Obi Wan's life and Qui Gon's but how ultimatly they are linked together. The book is short and could have more insight into the characters. A book very worth reading
