Avoid!, 23 Feb 2012
I dont often write reviews but felt compelled after finishing this novel. I bought it after reading good reviews 'page turner' etc. To say I was disappointed is somewhat of an understatement! After discovering this genre of book and having read several Scott Marianni and Scott Hunter I thought a new author would be good. How wrong I was! The main character spends the entire book running around like some petulant child throwing its toys around. He's forever stamping his feet with the likes of the British Consulate in such a fashion as to be unbelievable. He also seems to have no particular training for surviving assassination attempts but repeatedly does so. This man has so much luck I want him to buy me a lottery ticket. All through the book there is a hint of the shady goings on that are allegedly driving the novel but they never come to fruition until one paragraph in the last chapter where it seems the entire plot is explained in one go. A page turner? ....yes but only in a desperate attempt to get to the end!!
