5.0 out of 5 stars Very effective !, 2 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This stuff is really good. Tried chemical stripper (thick green gel, really quickly used up) which was more expensive and did not work at all. Thought I would try this, but without much hope as "bio" usually means ineffective in gardening terms. Hiwever, delighted with it ! Applies easily with a brush and goes a long way. Works best if you apply, leave 30 mins, and then hose down and scrape - paint just peels off in a satisfying gungy mess.

3.0 out of 5 stars Strange Terms, 2 May 2012
Have not finished yet, so I am ambivalent (though I have some sympathy with the criticism of using untranslated French phrases, balanced by some enjoyment in learning more about Palewski). However, felt I must comment on the reference to General & Mme de Gaulle having a "mentally handicapped" daughter. Anne de Gaulle had Downs syndrome, and Lisa Hilton's outdated terminology contrasts starkly with the "bravery" she attributes to the de Gaulles in keeping their daughter with them, in more prejudiced times. An odd editorial error which jars uncomfortably.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT, 7 Nov. 2009
I had a Revo which went wrong twice, and had to be installed by mechanic. Pure Highway can be installed by non techy person, and works really well. its the only way I've found to play my Ipod reliably in the car too. leave the power lead plugged in the socket though - it breaks if you keep taking it out (Pure sent a new one for no charge, which was great). All in all, a great solution to poor MW reception and cars with no iPod input.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, 31 Mar. 2008
Unlike the other reviewers I struggled with this. Although the characterisation is good and credible, I found the plot elements exceedingly unlikely. Particularly difficult to stomach are significant episodes which never ever get mentioned again in the CS series (for obvious reasons). The art of writing a fill in is consistency, both with previous and subsequent "real" CS books. This is achieved by "Gillian" and "Peace", but not, in my view, by this one. Shame.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed, 27 Jan. 2008
I have read 2 other CS fill ins (Juliet and Gillian) and really enjoyed both, and felt they added to the overall story of the Chalet School. I am afraid I did not enjoy this one at all. Despite being written after "Gillian" there is no attempt to make the 2 fit together - Joey's suitor has a different name for example. I felt the characters were not speaking with EBD's voice at all; Joey being particularly unbelievable. The story of Robin's "new cousin" stretched credulity to the limit - particularly since it is never mentioned in the rest of the CS books.

Overall a spin-off not a fill in, and disappointing at that.

5.0 out of 5 stars true chalet school atmosphere, 27 Jan. 2008
Really enjoyed this fill in title, which I found credible and enjoyable. The characters are very true to their original author and the story definitely adds to the existing EBD canon. Great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant to read by, 31 Dec. 2007
brilliant for reading, and not as tall as some low energy/natural bulbs so it fits normal lightshades properly.
