5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Necklace, 15 Nov 2014
This is a most beautiful necklace.
It was a gift from my husband and I adore it.
It is my birth stone.
The chain and clasp is sterling silver, so it will not discolour or tarnish.
It is a lovely length.

I have had some very good comments on it.

I will definitely buy another Revoni product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its Lovely, 8 Nov 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a nice ornament/ bedside light for any child to have.

It plays a lovely lullaby.

With a timer you can put the child to bed and set it going.
My young niece loved it. Enough said.

It would make a really good Christmas pressie.

Good value for money

4.0 out of 5 stars WW1 Postcards, 8 Nov 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a beautiful book of WW1 postcards both to and from the front to and from friends and family.

My only disappointment is there is no narrative with each card

It would make a nice gift to anyone interested in this subject.
I have a selection of postcards from Bamworth, who is a historian. They are beautiful and very poignant.

This book brings together a selection of the cards and is very well presented.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Tablet, 4 Nov 2014
This is a superb tablet with loads of functionality and it will not break the bank.
I paid just under £100 brand new for mine, as the Galaxy tab 4 has now been launched.

It is a very slim line unit, with a 7" screen with the brand of Samsung and the operating Android Jelly bean 4.1 system.

It is so lightweight at only 300g, which is fantastic for using on the go.

It has a dual core processor which equates to multi usage and FAST.

With a camera back and front, you can take your selfies without much hit and miss, and with the Facebook app ( free ) you can upload them instantly to facebook. Simples!!!!!!

It has a decent battery which when fully charged gives you approx 7 hours life.

And with access to the thousands of Apps you can download, what more could you want.

This is a brilliant low cost branded tablet

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, 4 Nov 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a really good case for my Kindle Fire HD 6.
The case fits the tablet beautifully, keeping it safe from any scratching etc.
It has a good feel to it without cheapening the tablet.
The case clasps shut with a magnet, which is good.
It stands up very well in landscape or portrait.
I feel this case will last...but we shall have to wait and see.

Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved this unlikely but fascinating partnership, 2 Nov 2014
Murder on Thames is the first in this new cozy crime series and I absolutely loved it!

We're introduced to the two main characters: Jack Brennan, a blunt and to the point American, who had never signed up to any of the English rituals of politeness, antiquated manners and codes of behaviour ...... and single mum Sarah Edwards who has come back to her home village after her divorce.

I quickly warmed to both of the characters, I enjoyed their first encounter where Sarah thought Jack was just a rude American and Jack thought Sarah was both persistent and sarcastic.

Gradually, as the plot develops, they form an unlikely but very intriguing partnership, they both bring something different to the crime investigation, and I loved their interaction. The police don't think Sarah's friend was murdered, Jack and Sarah do and they set out to prove it.

This had a great plot that kept me guessing and wanting to read on, the well-contained chapters were short and neat, each with a simple title, the main characters were well developed for such a short story. They both have their own contacts and individual ways to solve the clues and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they solve other murders in the next books. I also can't wait to find out more about them and watch their relationship grow.

If you enjoy crimes set in a cosy English village then I would definitely recommend you add this to your reading list.

Blood Dimmed Tide, The

3.0 out of 5 stars The story was all over the place, 1 Nov 2014
This review is from: Blood Dimmed Tide, The (Paperback)
The Blood Dimmed Tide weaves fact and fiction in this story of poet W.B. Yeats and his friend Charles Adams, "the ghost catcher" and ex Medical Student, who narrates most of the story.

Yeats is a member of a secret occult society called The Golden Dawn (formed in 1888) of mystics devoted to the practice of medieval and eastern rituals of magic.

While attending seances in London Yeats is singled out by a young Irish girl, Rosemary O'Grady, who has recently been murdered and asks Yeats to help her. Strangely, he had also recently received a letter from her telling of her torment.

He despatches Charles Adams to Ireland to try and find out who killed Rosemary, though he fears he is on a folly of a mission and doesn't really know what to do or what's expected of him.

This is where the story takes off as Adams becomes involved with Ireland's secret society of women, the abandoned and ruinous estates, the turbulent Atlantic Ocean and rebellious women on horseback.

But I did feel that it somehow lost it's way also, I didn't know what the author was trying to tell us, was the book a mystery, is it a paranormal story, is it about Ireland's struggles for freedom, or is it about Yeats? It touched on gun running, German weapons and smugglers. The story was all over the place, there was too much going on and it felt like the author didn't know himself what it was focused on, trying to fit everything in but not going into great detail about any of them.

Unfortunately, this book was not for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uplifting, 30 Oct 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is another beautiful Stacy Gregg book.
My niece read this book with deep fascination.
Any novel about a real life Princess is bound to capture the imagination of a young girl.
My niece is 11 and she loved the book.
There are no dark issues in this book. It is uplifting and really well written, drawing in the reader.
Yes there are some arabic names in the book, but this only adds to the excitement of the story.

A real good read and the cover and the chapter drawings are beautiful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money, 30 Oct 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I thought these speakers were decent value for money.
For under £30 they are adequate.
I gave them to my son who is at uni and he liked them.
The sound is not comparable to say a bose speaker system. But you wouldn't compare a mini to say a Ferrari. ( unless you are stupid !!!)

The base sound is ok.
The treble is ok.

My only problem was the length of cable. This is poor. Another metre would have got it 5 stars.

Good for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Good Read for a Young Girl, 30 Oct 2014
This review is from: Gaby's Angel (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This book is a really good read with a fabulous story.
My 11 year old niece loved it.
She said it was like reading a story with herself and her friends in it.
She has passed it to one of her friends who in turn will pass it on to another friend.
This is a true recommendation.
Wonderful.
